5 Avengers More Powerful Than They Seem

The Avengers team includes some of Marvel’s strongest heroes, which makes sense considering they consistently face universal-level threats and have saved the world countless times. While not every Avenger is incredibly powerful, the ones who are generally appear that way – though appearances can be deceiving. The team is diverse, with each member bringing unique skills and strengths. Captain America, for example, offers invaluable leadership and moral support, while others possess hidden power that might not be immediately obvious.

While they might not always get the spotlight, certain Avengers are incredibly valuable members of the team. These heroes are often underestimated, but they’ve consistently proven their strength and have been crucial in saving the day on numerous occasions.

5) The Wasp

The Wasp is a truly remarkable hero, and has been since the beginning. As one of the original Avengers and a past team leader, she’s consistently proven herself as a powerful force. People often underestimate her because of her ability to shrink, but that’s a mistake – she’s actually one of the most dangerous Avengers. Her stings pack a serious punch, and she can even grow to enormous size. She’s among the very best, and many villains have learned the hard way not to underestimate her.

4) Black Knight

Black Knight is a surprisingly powerful Marvel hero who often gets overlooked. He wasn’t just an Avenger – for a while, he was one of the team’s strongest members, especially during a strange period in the early 1990s. As Dane Whitman, he carries the Ebon Blade, a remarkably powerful and dangerous magical sword. A key part of his struggle is resisting the sword’s evil influence, which means he usually doesn’t unleash its full potential. Because of this, many of his opponents underestimate just how formidable he truly is, wielding one of the most powerful magical weapons the Avengers have ever seen.

3) Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl was sort of a member of the New Avengers – more like their babysitter, which was close enough. She has the abilities of a squirrel, but with one amazing addition: she always wins. Seriously, she’s defeated incredibly powerful villains like Thanos, Doctor Doom, and even Galactus! Anyone who tried to attack the Avengers’ home while the New Avengers lived there didn’t realize how strong she was, or how quickly she could end a fight. She may not be a typical powerhouse, but she can easily handle anyone who challenges her and come out on top.

2) Spider-Man

Spider-Man is often considered Marvel’s most down-to-earth hero, and he’s fought alongside the Avengers many times. A popular joke among fans centers on Doctor Octopus discovering Spider-Man’s true strength after temporarily controlling his body. Spider-Man is incredibly powerful, but he usually avoids using his full force in fights. Because he rarely goes all-out, most people underestimate just how strong he is. While he may not seem like much at first, Spider-Man is a formidable opponent – far more powerful than many villains realize – and he was a valuable asset to the Avengers.

1) Manifold

Manifold joined the Avengers during Jonathan Hickman’s run, but his potential wasn’t fully realized. Despite not having a huge role, he was incredibly powerful – arguably the most powerful member of an already exceptionally strong team. Manifold had the unique ability to essentially communicate with the universe itself, primarily using it for teleportation, but he could also reshape reality with a request. The universe usually responded. He could bend space in numerous ways, even traveling between universes. While the team largely relied on him for quick travel, he demonstrated incredible feats – like using the sun’s energy to cleanse Krakoa of symbiotes during King in Black – and had the potential to be a key asset.
