E4 has updated its schedule for today, Sunday, February 1st, 2026. Instead of the originally planned showing of Sister Act, the channel will now be airing the 1990 holiday favorite Home Alone.
I was really bummed to hear about Catherine O’Hara passing away – she was 71. As a huge movie fan, I’ll always remember her amazing performance as Kate McCallister, Kevin’s mom, in Home Alone. It’s such a classic, and she was absolutely brilliant in it. This change is a lovely way to honor her memory.
You can watch the film on E4 this Sunday, February 1st, at 5:50pm. It’s also currently streaming on Disney Plus.
After hearing about Angela Lansbury’s death, Macaulay Culkin was quick to honor her. He shared two pictures on Instagram – a current one and a throwback from when they both starred in ‘Home Alone’ – along with a heartfelt message.

The message was a heartfelt goodbye. It said, “Mom, I didn’t realize we were running out of time. I wished I could have spent more moments with you, just sitting beside you. I heard what you said, but there was so much more I wanted to tell you. I love you, and I’ll see you again.”
Catherine O’Hara is famous for her work in both movies and television. While many know her from Home Alone, she also starred in the popular series Schitt’s Creek and memorable films like After Hours, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
I’ve been really impressed with her recent work. She’s been doing some fantastic voice work in animated films like Elemental and The Wild Robot, and she’s also popped up on screen in a couple of great shows. I especially enjoyed her role in the first season of Apple TV+’s The Studio, and she was a welcome addition to the already phenomenal second season of HBO’s The Last of Us.

Eugene Levy, who worked with Catherine O’Hara on Schitt’s Creek, shared a heartfelt message, saying he was deeply saddened by her passing. He felt privileged to have known and collaborated with her for more than fifty years.
I’ll always treasure our time working together, from our early days at Second City and SCTV, through the fun movies we made with Chris Guest, and especially our six wonderful years on Schitt’s Creek. More than a colleague, she was a dear friend, and I’ll miss her greatly. My thoughts are with Bo, Matthew, Luke, and the whole O’Hara family.
You can now watch Home Alone on Disney Plus. A Disney+ subscription starts at just £5.99 per month.
