Kermit the Froghas some fashion advice for the lovers, the dreamers and the short kings.
Everyone knows Kermit the Frog is small but famous, so it’s natural that shorter people might get fashion ideas from him—if they’re bold enough to try!
Kermit joked to TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi that he doesn’t wear many clothes, which is often true. Miss Piggy quickly pointed out, though, that he is wearing a collar.
The amphibian is aware, however, that his go-to accessory isn’t necessarily on trend.
You know, I’ve been thinking about fashion trends, and it’s funny how things cycle back around. Kermit the Frog recently joked about when collared shirts might be cool again, and it actually got me wondering if his signature look could eventually inspire real street style. It’s a playful thought, but honestly, in fashion, anything is possible!
He wondered if they could make it fashionable again, and Miss Piggy confidently declared that collars would become very popular.
Kermit acknowledges that his typical look – without clothes but with a collar – isn’t for everyone. He says it really comes down to how comfortable you are with going without clothes.
I’m so excited! When Kermit and Miss Piggy – seriously, Miss Piggy is a total style icon – aren’t thinking about how much they’ve influenced everything, they’re working hard on bringing back The Muppet Show. It’s coming to Disney+ and ABC on February 4th, and I can’t wait!

The team reviving the show had some help from a special guest: Sabrina Carpenter, a major star today. Though, Miss Piggy might argue that she’s the biggest star of all! The original version of the show last aired in 1981.
Honestly, people keep asking if I was worried about having Sabrina join the show, and it’s just silly! As if I, Miss Piggy, would be intimidated by anyone! The real question is whether she was a little nervous to work with me! I mean, come on, it’s moi!
The Muppet quickly changed their mind, saying, “Actually, please don’t ask her that. Just believe me – she was really scared.”

Kermit, however, was ever the diplomat.
He explained that Miss Piggy likely wanted to express how much she enjoyed performing with Sabrina, praising her as a talented singer and actress.
“Sure, sure, sure, yeah,” Miss Piggy responded, ever sincere. “That’s what I meant.”
You can start watching The Muppet Show on Disney+ and ABC on February 4th. Keep reading to learn more about some of your beloved TV and movie characters!

Many fans were left purrrrrfectly confused after this revelation.
According to Jill Cook, a Sanrio executive, Hello Kitty isn’t a cat at all. In a July 2024 interview with Today, Cook explained that Hello Kitty is a little girl who grew up in the London suburbs. She has a family – including a mom, dad, and twin sister named Mimmy, who is also her best friend – and loves to bake and meet new people.
Although the recent news came as a surprise to many, Tim Cook wasn’t the first to reveal this. Christine R. Yano, an anthropology professor and author of Pink Globalization: Hello Kitty’s Trek Across the Pacific, had previously confirmed that Hello Kitty is not actually a cat.
In a 2014 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hello Kitty’s creator clarified that Hello Kitty isn’t actually a cat. She explained that Hello Kitty is a cartoon character – a little girl and a friend – who walks and sits upright like a human. While Hello Kitty has a pet cat named Charmmy Kitty, she herself is not feline.
Did you know some fun things about Hello Kitty? Sanrio says she’s the height and weight of five apples, was born on November 1st (so she’s a Scorpio!), and hopes to become either a pianist or a poet.

Gawrsh! Did you know this fact?
Bill Farmer, the longtime voice of Goofy, recently shared the reason why Goofy can speak, but Pluto, Mickey Mouse’s dog, cannot.
During an August 2024 episode of the Popcorn Podcast with Leigh Livingstone and Tim Iffland, Goofy’s voice actor explained that Goofy isn’t technically a dog, but falls into the canine family—similar to how a wolf isn’t a dog, but is still a canine. He described Goofy as a “Goofus canis”—or a man-dog, a “MOG,” for short.
However, Pluto, he added, is a “regular dog”—a blood hound as it turns out.

You’ll want to get to the (bikini) bottom of this discovery.
Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, surprisingly shared that the character Squidward Tentacles is actually an octopus, despite his name suggesting he’s a squid.
Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, explained the design of Squidward the Octopus in a 2005 interview rediscovered by BuzzFeed. He said he chose an octopus because of their naturally large heads, and that Squidward’s big head fit the character, who believes himself to be very intelligent.
If you’ve ever questioned why Squidward only has six legs when he’s supposed to be an octopus, the creator, Stephen Hillenburg, explained it was simply easier to animate him with fewer tentacles.

Break out your handy dandy notebook and jot this one down.
According to co-creator Angela Santomero, Blue wasn’t always Blue! In a 2006 special called Behind the Clues: 10 Years With Blue (recently highlighted by Mental Floss), she revealed that Blue was initially going to be named Mr. Orange before they decided on Mr. Blue instead.
However, Nickelodeon had already begun developing a show centered around a cat. Because of this, the creators scrapped their initial concept and changed Blue from a cat to a dog.

Now this really isn’t funnie, er, funny.
Interestingly, the main character of the cartoon Doug was nearly called Brian. So, what caused the name to be changed?
Jim Jinkins, the creator of Doug, explained to HuffPost TV in 2014 that he originally felt the name “Brian” was too sophisticated for the character. He decided to simplify it to “Doug” because he wanted a name that sounded completely ordinary, reflecting the character’s perspective.

This fact is so good it’s scary.
BuzzFeed reports that the little girl in Monsters, Inc.: An Augmented Reality Book is named Mary Gibbs. Interestingly, this is the actual name of the actress who voiced the character of Boo in the movie!
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always loved uncovering hidden details, and this one is amazing! If you’re a ‘Monsters, Inc.’ fan, you might have already noticed this, but there’s a scene where Boo is looking at her drawings, and if you look closely, you can actually see the name ‘Mary’ written on one of them. It’s a really sweet little Easter egg!

As a bit of Disney trivia I love to share, everyone knows Mickey Mouse’s sweetheart as Minnie Mouse, right? Well, I recently learned – and it’s pretty fascinating – that back in 1942, the BBC reported her full name is actually Minerva! It’s a lovely, classic name, and I always enjoy sharing these little details about our favorite characters.
