Just when things seemed calm in the Marvel Universe, Godzilla is back and causing even more chaos! In 2025, Marvel teamed up with Toho to bring fans Godzilla vs. Marvel, a series of six short stories matching the monster king against Marvel’s most famous heroes. But that was just the beginning – the main event of 2025 was Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe. This five-part series, taking place somewhere in the history of Earth-616, features all of Marvel’s heroes (and a few villains!) uniting to prevent Godzilla from destroying the world.
The last team-up between Godzilla and Marvel was written by Gerry Dugan and illustrated by Javier Garrón. This time, they’re joined by artist Ig Guara. That story left Godzilla stranded on a barren planet, where he was discovered by Knull, the God of the Symbiotes. Knull saw Godzilla as a powerful weapon and planned to use him to take over the Marvel Universe. That happened only a few months ago, and Marvel is quickly releasing the continuation. This new crossover is just as exciting, wild, and enjoyable as the first one – and maybe even better!

Godzilla Infinity Roar #1 Ups the Ante with Crazy Cosmic Epic

The story begins shortly after Godzilla’s rampage through the Marvel Universe. Knull has been using Godzilla as a weapon to take over numerous worlds, and now the Wakandan Empire is under attack. Black Bolt attempts to defend it, and while his sonic scream harms Godzilla and Knull’s symbiotes, it isn’t enough to save the city. With the Galactic Senate thrown into panic and unable to find a solution, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive to offer assistance.
The Guardians immediately rush towards Knull’s ship, determined to pull him away from Godzilla. However, Knull is ready for them, and during the fight, they learn about his horrifying new plan: he intends to unleash a creature called the Godwyrm onto Yggdrasil, the World Tree, which would absorb and destroy all life in the universe. Though the Guardians are defeated, Odin gets Asgard ready for the coming attack. At the same time, the Fantastic Four travel into space, hoping to find one powerful ally who can stop both Godzilla and Knull: Galactus.
Marvel Raises the Stakes and Delivers Another Compelling Godzilla Crossover

I’m not sure why, but Godzilla crossovers have been surprisingly good for Marvel lately! I really enjoyed the first one, Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, and this sequel didn’t disappoint. It has the same fun and impressive action as before, but with even bigger threats. Honestly, the idea of Knull controlling Godzilla to bring about an age of darkness is terrifying! I’m sure even more powerful villains will show up eventually, but this story feels appropriately epic for now.
This team of Duggan, Garrón, and Guara really delivers a fantastic story. Duggan cleverly uses the contrast between Marvel heroes and Godzilla, and bringing in Black Bolt was a great choice. However, the story wouldn’t be nearly as impactful without Garrón and Guara’s artwork, which seamlessly integrates Godzilla into these alien environments. He feels right at home, even while causing chaos, and despite the story’s unusual premise, everything comes together perfectly.
If you weren’t a fan of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, you probably won’t enjoy this one either. It follows the same fast-paced structure as the first installment, with constant action and Godzilla usually winning. While some will love that, it might be overwhelming for others. Like most sequels, it’s best experienced soon after reading the first part – those unfamiliar with the previous crossover might feel confused. Marvel made a good call by releasing this quickly, but it assumes you’ve already read the first story.
Overall, Godzilla Infinity Roar #1 is a really enjoyable read. It delivers the same exciting action and humor as the previous issue, but raises the stakes with a galactic setting. The idea of Godzilla causing chaos across the Marvel universe has a lot of promise, and this issue left me eager to see what happens next. If you’re looking for over-the-top monster action, you won’t want to skip Godzilla Infinity Roar #1.
