Square Enix announced that their new action RPG, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 18th. The release date was shown in a new trailer during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation, which you can watch below.
The new trailer, which is over two and a half minutes long, shows the main character, Elliot, reflecting on the danger his friends and allies face, and finding the resolve to fight on. It then gives viewers a glimpse into the story and world of the RPG, set in the land of Philabieldia. This trailer reveals a much wider range of environments than the first, including dark dungeons, frozen caverns, lava-filled caves, and steamy swamps.
The game showcases Square Enix’s unique HD-2D art style, which has become popular in their recent remakes and new games. It’s a blend of detailed, high-resolution visuals and classic pixel art, giving it a retro feel with a modern look.
Originally announced in July 2025, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a hack-and-slash RPG that emphasizes careful observation of enemy attacks. Players will have a wide variety of weapons to choose from, including swords, chains, sickles, and bows. The game will also feature a two-player mode, allowing one player to control the fairy Faie and assist Elliot in battles and while exploring.
