After announcing that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be available on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in June, Square Enix also confirmed the PlayStation 5 version will now have a lower, permanent price to match the new releases.
From 9th February 2026, here are the permanent price drops for every version of the game:

All versions of the game, even those that include both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, will be $20 cheaper starting Monday, February 9th.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is launching on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026. The game will include new features – called Boost – designed to make gameplay easier, along with new modes and customizable options. Just like with the previous game, Final Fantasy VII Remake, these options will also be available for PlayStation 5 players on the same day.
