The future of the Dragon Ball Super anime is about to be revealed! This year has already brought exciting news for Dragon Ball fans, with several new projects announced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original manga. Now, we won’t have to wait long for an update on one of these upcoming anime projects – details are coming very soon!
A remake of the ‘Battle of Gods’ arc from Dragon Ball Super has been announced. This new version, called Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, is described as an enhanced retelling of the original story. An update on the remake will be shared during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event on April 19th, according to the event’s website.
Dragon Ball Super Remake Anime Update Coming April 2026

At Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, a special panel featuring Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be held on April 19th. It’s currently unknown whether this panel will be streamed online or exclusive to attendees in Los Angeles, California, but it’s exciting to get an update. The remake is scheduled to premiere in Japan this fall, and fans are eager for more details about this fresh version of a beloved story arc.
The upcoming release of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus hasn’t announced how many episodes it will have, but it promises significant changes. These include new and revised scenes, completely re-done visuals, updated dubbing with enhanced sound, and a restructured storyline. Many fans believe this version will become the standard way to watch the anime in the future, leading to speculation about whether other story arcs will receive the same extensive overhaul.
New Dragon Ball Super Episodes Coming for Galactic Patrol Arc

I’ve learned that Dragon Ball Super isn’t stopping here! After the remake comes out, we’re getting a brand new anime series. It’s called Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, and it will cover the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, which originally appeared in the Dragon Ball Super manga. This is the first of two big storylines that were created just for the manga, and it’s going to introduce a powerful new villain named Moro, a being who can devour entire planets. He’s a serious threat and will really test how well Goku has mastered Ultra Instinct.
There’s no confirmed release date for this new anime yet, but it will probably come out after the remake is finished. If the Dragon Ball Super remake continues to update older episodes like Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, we’ll need to see remakes of the Resurrection ‘F’, Universe 6, and Tournament of Power arcs before any completely new anime content is released.
