Recently, a rating appeared for a possible new version of the Rayman game, and now Michel Ancel, the creator of the series, has revealed details about the project.
According to the newest issue of Retro Gamer magazine (as shared on social media by @AlfredNewStart and @raymanmerch), Michel Ancel mentioned that Ubisoft is developing what appears to be an improved remaster of the classic PlayStation 1 platformer to mark its 30th anniversary.
He mentioned a remastered version is in the works. He couldn’t recall the exact release date, but said it will be in HD, and Ubisoft is planning to add more save points to make the game less challenging.
We’re happy to hear that! The original Rayman was a memorable game for a lot of PlayStation 1 owners, though it could definitely be quite difficult and frustrating at times.
It seems like an official announcement is coming soon. There’s a chance we’ll hear about it during this week’s State of Play broadcast, which would be a logical time for the news. We shouldn’t have to wait long to find out for sure.
Do you think Rayman deserves another chance? And don’t forget those strange enemy sounds – share your thoughts in the comments!
