Coronation Street is set for a dramatic week in Weatherfield, launching a captivating new murder mystery.
The special episode airing Monday shows us events from the future, but it focuses on who will die, not how it happens. We won’t find out the victim until the scenes actually air in April.
In addition to everything else, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) tells Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) a shocking secret: Debbie (Sue Devaney) is his mother. Meanwhile, Debbie’s troubles escalate while in prison after an encounter with a former hotel guest named Paula (Kelli Hollis).
Sam Blakeman secretly sets up a camera, hoping to catch Megan Walsh abusing a child. At the same time, Mal Roper attempts to win over Bernie Winter-Alahan, and Jodie Ramsey creates problems for both Lily Platt and Hope Dobbs.
Here’s a recap of what happened on Coronation Street from February 16th to 20th.
9 Coronation Street spoilers for next week
1. Weatherfield flashes forward to April – and a shocking murder

This episode jumps between the present and the future, focusing on Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) as she’s questioned by police after discovering a body.
She looks stunning, but it’s obvious something has gone wrong with what was supposed to be a happy event. As the detective replays the recording, we learn the date: April 2026.
As the story unfolds, we meet five people who could become murder victims. The question is: who will be killed in April, and by whom?
2. Carl Webster makes it his mission to burn down the hotel

Carl is determined to get revenge and calls his friend, Jez, to discuss a plan to set fire to the Chariot Square Hotel.
A shifty associate arrives at the hotel and tells Ronnie he’s a repairman looking for jobs. While Ronnie is distracted, Jez quickly takes pictures of the fire escapes and security cameras, then leaves in a hurry.
The men met again to discuss what had happened, clarifying the specifics about the fire. However, things quickly changed when Carl left. Ronnie walked up to Jez, took his picture, and directly warned him that Carl was causing problems.

The initial warning soon escalates into a heated argument. Carl reveals a shocking secret: Debbie is his mother, and she will always side with him.
Carl later informs Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) of his intention to report Ronnie for assault, which makes the conflict even worse.
While Debbie is in prison, she’s surprised to learn her son is coming to visit. During their meeting, she assures him she’ll work hard to repair their relationship once she’s released.
3. Sam Blakeman plants a secret camera to catch out Megan Walsh

I’m really starting to think something’s up with Megan. Sam’s confided in Daniel that he’s using the salon flat to study while Leanne’s away, but it feels like a cover. And get this – I just overheard Megan telling Will she’ll have the place to herself for a few nights! It’s all a bit suspicious, honestly.
Will, eager to enjoy himself, tells his dad, Ben, that a friend invited him for a sleepover. Ben isn’t convinced, but later Daniel arrives at the Rovers, awkwardly apologizes to Will, and they make amends with a handshake.
Suddenly, Ben relents and says he can stay at his mate’s after all.

Soon, Will was walking towards apartment 2A carrying a bag, and Sam watched as Megan let him in. Later, Sam entered the flat himself, surprising Megan. After she left, he made room on a shelf to set something up.
Megan quickly tells Will that Sam let himself in, and urges him to try and win Sam over. Will comes up with a plan to become friends with Sam, even offering him vodka to spend time together. Sam agrees, hoping he can use the opportunity to find out what Will is up to.
At the police station, Will tells Sam that his relationship with Megan is purely work-related. Sam doesn’t believe him, and the situation becomes even more strained when Daniel arrives, causing Will to quickly leave.

Sam was excited as he opened his hidden camera app and saw Megan and Will come into the apartment, but the battery died unexpectedly.
Eva Price asks Toyah Battersby to join her and Leanne for a night out with Megan. During their plans, Leanne playfully suggests she thinks Megan and Daniel have been secretly meeting at the flat.
Megan pulls Sam aside at the bar to deliver a disturbing warning: if he reveals anything, people won’t believe him, and they’ll realize he’s not as clever as he believes. With his phone now charged, Sam is finally able to watch the secretly recorded video.

Is this the end of Megan’s child abuse?
4. Mal Roper tries to impress Bernie Winter-Alahan

Mal excitedly showed Brian a bag of crystals he’d recently purchased, explaining he’d been researching their supposed healing properties. Bernie, though, didn’t seem to share his enthusiasm.
She immediately realizes what he’s up to – he’s not genuinely trying to improve himself, he just wants to impress her.
She was already stressed, and then she lashed out, clearly directing her frustration at Mal. Jodie observed this, and now wonders if she can use it to her benefit.

Mal remains determined to uncover the truth and starts by questioning Chesney Winter-Brown (Sam Aston) to find out Bernie’s preferred crystal. He then takes a bolder step, inviting Bernie back to his place hoping for some private time together.
After everything, will Bernie humour him, or see straight through the act?
5. Jodie Ramsey is pleased to have David Platt’s attention

David Platt came home and was shocked to find Jodie and Carl embracing intimately. He immediately told Carl to leave, not realizing Jodie was secretly enjoying the attention from her brother-in-law.
Will Shona (Julia Goulding) realise that she’s trying to make a move on her man?
6. Debbie Webster faces up to the prison top dog

While visiting Lou Michaelis (played by Farrel Hegarty) in prison, Debbie accidentally refers to him as “Abi” before revealing she’s been diagnosed with early-onset dementia.
Another prisoner, Paula, recognizes Debbie and quickly warns her that this woman is a powerful troublemaker and should be avoided. Before Lou can keep an eye on things, Paula confronts Debbie, bringing up a past incident where Debbie refused her access to the hotel.
Back in her cell, Debbie was trying to stay out of trouble when Paula unexpectedly rushed in, sobbing. Paula explained that her boyfriend had broken up with her while he was in prison for burglary. Feeling sorry for her, Debbie attempted to offer some comfort.

Ronnie tells Kevin a surprising secret: Carl confided that Debbie is his mother. Debbie then confirms the news, leaving both men stunned and needing time to absorb the information.
7. Lily Platt’s new job causes trouble for Hope Dobbs

David finds Lily a job at The Kabin, which she’s thrilled about. However, she’s less pleased when he reveals he mainly wanted her out of the house in the mornings to have some peace and quiet.
Things get off to a rocky start when Lily secretly throws away a pile of newspapers, but Hope finds them. This leads Hope to Rita Tanner, and Lily’s secret is accidentally revealed.
Hope tries to get Rita to help with her Duke of Edinburgh award, but her plan goes wrong after she makes a playful, but insensitive, comment about Rita’s age, which upsets her. Meanwhile, Brian Packham tells David and Shona he needs to talk to them urgently about Lily.

Jodie intentionally causes drama by reminding Hope of past conflicts between Brian, Rita, and Lily. When Hope tries to defend Brian and Rita, Jodie subtly suggests they might be gossiping about her.
Hope’s suspicions are proven right when she overhears Brian and Rita discussing her difficult history in the convenience store.
8. Maggie Driscoll meddles with Ollie’s relationship

Maggie Driscoll tells Ben and Eva she doesn’t like Lauren Bolton and deliberately scheduled her to work so Lauren would have to cancel her date with Ollie.
When the two lovebirds flirt behind the bar, an irritated Maggie orders Lauren to focus on her job.
Will she ever stop meddling with her family’s love lives?
9. Tim Metcalfe is jealous of Steve McDonald’s new friendship

Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) is feeling insecure and is at the Rovers having a drink. He’s worried to see his friend Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) chatting and joking with Ben. When Steve goes to the bathroom, Tim quickly reminds him that he is Steve’s best friend.
It seems that the two men have even more in common, and end up playing a game of darts together.
But what will this mean for poor Tim?
