Emmerdale confirms return of “complex” character in high stakes workplace bullying storyline for Jacob Gallagher

Emmerdale is bringing back Caroline Harker as Doctor Todd just before a storyline about workplace bullying involving Joe Warren Plant’s character, Jacob Sugden, begins.

Jonathan Harker is coming back to the show for a longer period, and the storyline will focus on the serious issue of bullying in the workplace.

Dr. Todd frequently criticizes and finds fault with her eager trainee, Jacob. ITV states the storyline will explore Jacob’s difficulties balancing his personal and professional life while dealing with his demanding boss.

Things get more complicated when Doctor Todd decides to live in the village, making it difficult for Jacob to separate work from his personal life.

Harker expressed her excitement about returning to Emmerdale to play Doctor Todd for an extended period. She described her character as complex and hinted at challenging interactions with Jacob. She also noted the show will be tackling the important issue of workplace bullying, which she believes is a relevant topic for a drama like Emmerdale.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw shared her excitement about the arrival of Caitlin Todd, hinting at some clever storylines to come. She also noted that Caroline, the actress playing the role, is very talented and experienced, and they have exciting plans for her character beyond her work at the hospital.

Harker appeared as Doctor Todd in a few episodes of the soap opera last year. She’s also recently been in shows like Slow Horses, Joan, The Agency, The Stolen Girl, and Hijack.

In the latest episode of Emmerdale, which aired on February 9th, Victoria Sugden made a heartbreaking choice: she turned herself in to the police to protect Moira from going to prison for something she didn’t do.
