Get ready for a thrilling new adventure! Ben Shephard takes viewers on a journey to New Zealand in ITV’s ‘The Summit’.
This exciting reality show follows courageous competitors as they race to the top of a stunning New Zealand mountain.
Okay, so imagine this: we’ve got a bunch of adventurers, and they’ve only got two weeks to reach the top of this massive peak. The prize? A cool £100,000 each – there’s £200,000 on the table split between them. But it’s not going to be easy. They’re facing some seriously dangerous landscapes, unpredictable weather, and challenges that are just… insane. It’s going to be a real test of skill and endurance, and I, for one, am completely hooked!
The Summit’s contestants come from all sorts of backgrounds. Meet the cast – you’ll recognize some, and some will be completely new faces!

Afton

Age: 24

Job: Pageant and fitness coach
Afton, a pageant and fitness coach, decided to challenge herself and embark on a new journey to encourage personal growth.
Afton expressed a strong desire to win, stating she’s fully committed to achieving that goal. She always gives her all to any endeavor, aiming to perform at her highest level, because she doesn’t believe in participating without striving for the best – or at least, her personal best. She’s eager to both win and experience new things, and she anticipates this opportunity will allow her to do both. She’s particularly excited about visiting New Zealand, a place she’s never been, and sees it as a fantastic chance to learn and grow.
Some may also recognise Afton as the daughter of writer and TV personality Gillian McKeith.
Charlett

Age: 38
Location: Wiltshire
Job: Pole fitness instructor
Charlett teaches pole fitness and is confident that her strong will and determination will help her succeed on the show.
I’m incredibly focused and mentally tough,” she said. “I’m also physically strong – pole dancing has actually improved my fitness – but I believe it’s my mental strength that will ultimately help me succeed.
Colleen

Age: 48
Location: Port Talbot
Job: Ex-steel worker
Colleen, who used to work in the steel industry in Port Talbot, is participating in The Summit as part of a journey to discover more about herself.
I let others dictate my life for a while, but now I’m ready to take charge and show myself that I can handle anything. This is my opportunity to prove I’m capable and regain control.
Dockers

Age: 36
Location: Hull
Job: Senior construction manager
I’m really intrigued by Dockers. He’s a former soldier now working as a top construction manager, and he seems convinced that his strong mindset – the way he approaches challenges – will be his greatest asset in The Summit. It’ll be interesting to see if that holds true!
He explained that he’s able to completely focus and block out distractions, allowing him to keep working regardless of what’s happening around him.
Drew

Age: 32
Location: North London
Job: Project manager
Drew wants to motivate people by challenging himself and proving that determination can help you achieve anything you set your mind to.
He admitted this was the most difficult thing he’d ever attempted. While he’d completed marathons and an Ironman, he said this challenge was on a completely different level.
Jenny

Age: 46
Location: Peterborough
Job: Sales and marketing manager
Jenny, a sales and marketing manager in Peterborough, was looking for a difficult but rewarding new opportunity.
I’m always striving to reach my full potential. I believe there’s something I’m meant to excel at, and that drives me. I’m motivated by a desire to accomplish great things, explore new possibilities, and really test my abilities – I want to see how far I can push myself.
She’s working on building her self-confidence and proving her doubters wrong. She wants to demonstrate her ability to succeed, acknowledging that while others may have taken different paths, she’s capable of achieving her goals. Ultimately, she needs to overcome her self-doubt and have as much faith in herself as others have in her.
Joel

Age: 35
Location: Loughborough
Job: Mentor/Sports coach
Joel believes in his abilities and wants to connect with others to achieve great things together.
He explained that he came here hoping to find peace and to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Miranda

Age: 50
Location: Northampton
Job: Publican
Miranda owns a pair of pubs and is constantly seeking new challenges and ways to grow, both personally and professionally.
What really motivates me is pushing myself to try things I’ve never done before,” she explained. “I also think I’ll prove a lot of people wrong. I’ve accomplished a lot already, and I want to show everyone what I’m truly capable of. I’m fifty years old, and I definitely don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
Patrick

Age: 24
Location: Milton Keynes
Job: Content creator
Patrick creates content online as his full-time job, which he’s been doing for over a year now, letting him quit his traditional 9-to-5 work.
He described it as a unique chance, explaining that it felt like a natural next step in his personal growth. He’s eager to become more visible and connect with people on a deeper level, allowing them to get to know the real him.
Sean

Age: 25
Location: Liverpool
Job: Customer service advisor
Sean typically prioritizes others and has always focused on helping them. Now, he’s ready to shift his focus and do something just for himself.
“I used to live and look after my nan and she told me to go for it,” he said.
Tara

Age: 31
Location: Manchester
Job: Social media influencer
Tara is a social media influencer who’s used to a different kind of life, but she’s excited to take on the challenge of The Summit.
I’ve reached a point where I enjoy a quiet life. Honestly, my perfect evening is now relaxing at home watching a movie with my cats. But I realized I needed a challenge, something to push me and show me what I’m capable of. This opportunity felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a way to test my limits and build resilience.
Thomas

Age: 29
Location: Winchester
Job: Tour guide
Thomas, a tour guide based in Winchester, is attempting The Summit as a personal journey of self-discovery. He hopes the challenge will help him find answers to some questions he has about himself.
He wondered if he could overcome his fear of heights, challenge his limits even when he felt he’d reached them, and try something completely new.
Tyra

Age: 24
Location: London
Job: England football scout
Tyra scouts for the England women’s football team and was looking for a fresh challenge.
She explained that her life is centered on supporting others and being their priority, but it often leaves her feeling isolated.
I travel for work and often attend football games. While I enjoy watching football, it can be isolating – it’s just me and my notes. I rarely get any personal time, so I’m hoping this will be an opportunity to reconnect with myself and explore new ways to express my creativity.
Warren

Age: 52
Location: London
Job: Ordained minister
Warren is a minister, but he’s also known for being a contestant on the show Gladiators, which he remembers as an incredibly tough competition.
When asked why he decided to tackle a challenge like The Summit, Warren explained he had many motivations. He believes personal growth happens when you push beyond what’s familiar, and that staying within your comfort zone leads to stagnation. Ultimately, he wants to live a life free from fear and actively seek out challenges.
The Summit begins on Tuesday 10th February at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
