Meghan Trainor Shares Update After Daughter Mikey’s First Weeks Home

Meghan Trainor is over the moon for her baby girl.

Meghan Trainor recently gave fans a glimpse of her baby daughter, Mikey Moon, just a few weeks after revealing she and husband Daryl Sabara had welcomed her through surrogacy.

Meghan danced to her new song, “Get in Girl,” while cradling her baby, Mikey. The little one, wrapped in a pink blanket and sucking on a purple pacifier, was shown off to the camera. Meghan moved closer, giving fans a clear view of her daughter’s bright eyes and vibrant red hair.

Fawning over her baby girl, Meghan captioned the Feb. 9 Instagram video, “3 weeks of loving Mikey.”

They’re completely smitten with their newborn daughter, joining big brothers Riley, who’s four, and Barry, who’s two, in a world of baby bliss. It’s just lovely to see their family expanding!

The couple, married since 2018, expressed deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and entire medical team who helped make their dream come true. They explained that after many discussions with their doctors, this was the safest path to expand their family.

With three sons already, they were thrilled to welcome a baby sister into their family.

They shared their joy about their new baby girl, writing that they were completely in love with her. Riley and Barry were thrilled about her arrival and even helped pick out her middle name. Now, they’re looking forward to spending quality time as a family and sent their love to everyone.

Meghan shared a heartwarming video of her sons, Riley and Barry, meeting their new baby sister. Posted on TikTok on January 21st, the video shows Riley and Barry sitting with Meghan and Daryl, taking turns carefully holding their little sister in the hospital.

Riley lovingly asked her parents if they could take the baby home with them, wanting her to be a permanent part of the family. Meanwhile, Barry was excited to kiss his new sister, but he let out a little burp as he tried, which made everyone laugh.

Sharing his family’s excitement, Riley looked to the camera and exclaimed, “This is our baby.”

In October 2016, Meghan Trainor revealed she was dating Daryl Sabara by posting a picture of them together on Instagram.

Daryl proposed to Meghan on her 24th birthday in December 2017, and it was exactly how she’d always dreamed. She shared on Instagram that he proposed under a stunning display of Christmas lights, and then surprised her with her family and friends. She called him “the love of my life.”

Meghan Trainor, known for her hit song “All About That Bass,” married actor Daryl Sabara (from the Spy Kids movies) on December 23, 2018. She told People magazine that it marked the start of a wonderful new chapter in her life, saying she felt incredibly lucky.

In a 2019 interview on TopMob’s Just the Sip with Justin Sylvester, Meghan described how her husband, Daryl, helps build her confidence. She said, “When I’m feeling down, he always knows how to make me feel better.” She also shared that he’s incredibly attentive, even noticing when she’s lost in thought while watching TV. He’ll simply look at her and ask what she’s thinking, which she jokingly called “the best therapy all day long.”

 

At the 2019 Grammys, Meghan happily talked about being newly married. She jokingly described her husband as incredibly romantic and admitted she was completely obsessed with him, calling it ‘gross’ in a playful way, while speaking on Live From the Red Carpet.

 

Meghan and Daryl announced in October 2020 that they were expecting their first child. During an appearance on Today, the singer shared how excited her family was, explaining that due to COVID-19 restrictions, she was attending appointments alone but recording everything to share with them.

Meghan has expressed a desire for twins or triplets, ideally having them all at once. She jokingly said she wants to ‘get it all done at one time’ and have a doctor implant them, explaining she wants to complete her family quickly and efficiently with multiple babies at once.

Baby Riley made his debut on Feb. 8, 2021, just under a week before his Valentine’s Day due date. 

Meghan shared on Instagram, thanking Daryl Sabara for an amazing Valentine’s Day gift and announcing the arrival of their baby, Riley!

Meghan and Daryl celebrated the birth of their second child, Barry, on July 1, 2023 – a special day that also marked seven years since their first date.

Meghan revealed her son weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces at birth and was delivered via C-section after being positioned sideways. She was thrilled to finally experience skin-to-skin contact with him and expressed gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for them.

The couple used to share a double toilet, but they had to change things a bit when they moved to a new home.

Meghan described their new bathroom, explaining on the Armchair Expert podcast in 2024 that the toilet and bidet face each other. She joked that the small space means they’ll be very close – ‘knees to knees’ – but she likes that because she wants to be able to see him.

Meghan and Daryl announced the birth of their daughter, Mikey Moon Trainor, born via surrogate on January 18, 2026.

Meghan shared on Instagram that after many discussions with their doctors, they felt this was the safest path to expand their family. She expressed immense joy about their new baby girl, saying they are ‘over the moon in love.’ Her older children, Riley and Barry, were thrilled and even helped choose the baby’s middle name. The family is now looking forward to enjoying time together and sent their love to everyone.
