Kid Rock says he’s the picture of innocence when it comes to his lip-syncing allegations.
After people online noticed that Kid Cudi seemed to be lip-syncing during his performance at the Turning Point USA All American Halftime Show—which happened at the same time as Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance—he explained that the mismatch between his words and the music was due to a technical issue with the production.
Kid Rock explained in a recent video posted on X that his halftime performance was both pre-recorded and performed live. He addressed claims of lip-syncing, stating that he didn’t do it and that a camera synchronization issue during his song ‘Bawitdaba’ caused some confusion.
In the video, 55-year-old Kid Rock (born Robert James Ritchie) and his DJ, Freddie “Paradime” Beauregard, addressed claims that he didn’t actually sing his 1999 hit, “Bawitdaba,” and instead lip-synced the performance.
Kid Rock explained in a video that if he were to ever lip sync – something he doesn’t plan to do – he’d choose this song last. He added that he and his band have been performing the song live every night since it came out in 1998.
Kid Rock explained his off-beat rapping during the broadcast by saying the show’s production team couldn’t keep pace with the music.
He said it was challenging for the team because one person didn’t quite know the song well enough. Now, getting everything synchronized is proving very difficult. He believes they could have succeeded if they’d had more time.

To drive his point home, he added, “No lip syncing here.”
As Kid Rock performed a concert in Georgia, Bad Bunny (born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in California. During his 13-minute performance, Bad Bunny was joined by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Several stars, including Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Jessica Alba, and Alix Earle, also made brief appearances as part of a tribute to his home country, Puerto Rico.
Before taking the stage, the artist behind the song “Tití Me Preguntó” shared a preview of what his performance would be like.
During the Apple Music press conference on February 5th, he explained he’d be hosting a large group. He said it would include his family, friends, and people from the Latino community worldwide who have supported him, as well as fans from all over the country. He emphasized the incredible amount of support he receives globally.
