Jill Zarin Fired From RHONY Reunion Show After Bad Bunny Comments

Jill Zarin is parting ways with The Golden Life.

I’m hearing that Bethenny Frankel won’t be participating in the new Real Housewives of New York City spin-off. The show will follow Luann, Ramona, Kelly, and Sonja as they enjoy life in Palm Beach, and unfortunately, Bethenny won’t be joining them for this adventure.

As many of you may have heard, Jill Zarin and I have had some conversations about her role on The Golden Life. After careful consideration, we’ve decided it’s best to move forward without her involvement. As a production company, we’re dedicated to creating a show that aligns with our values, and we’re confident we can deliver that. We’re still very excited about bringing this series to life!

Just two days before she was fired, Jill publicly criticized Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, calling it “the worst ever.”

She expressed her disapproval of a recent celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary being conducted in Spanish. In a now-deleted video on Instagram, she explained that she doesn’t understand the language and felt excluded. She also interpreted the event, which appeared to only feature people of color, as a political statement.

Jill claimed that Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) behaved inappropriately, specifically alleging he was constantly touching himself. She also made the claim that his guest, Lady Gaga, had recently had a facelift.

“I didn’t recognize her,” Jill continued. “I literally had to Google her face to see who it was.”

However, Sonja, another former cast member of RHONY, appeared to have liked Lady Gaga’s Latin-inspired version of “Die With a Smile.”

When a fan shared a video of Luann during the cast’s trip to Colombia in season 10, jokingly comparing her to Lady Gaga at an event called the ‘Benito Bowl,’ Sonja responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple, positive message: ‘So good,’ along with a smiling emoji.

Jill was one of the first cast members on RHONY, along with Luann, Ramona, Bethenny Frankel, and Alex McCord. Kelly joined in the second season, and Sonja came on board in the third.

RHONY was rebooted with an all-new cast for its 14th season in 2023.
