Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a role-playing game that focuses on rearing monsters, featuring a compelling storyline centered around the connection between humans and Digimon, a tactical turn-based combat system, and extensive collection, development, and personalization of Digimon. In this game, you assume the character of an agent from the covert organization ADAMAS, whose job is to probe into paranormal occurrences. Your assignments will lead you through various realms, including the human world and the Digital World: Iliad, and even beyond the confines of time itself.

Media.Vision, the creators of the popular “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth”, have developed this game. Leveraging their past success, we’ve incorporated fresh systems and innovative storytelling methods to bring the game’s world, narrative, and characters to life in a unique way. This is designed to be an enjoyable experience for both long-time Digimon gamers and newcomers alike.

In this game, you’ll meet Digimons – digital creatures that blend organic and electronic traits. Initially, you’ll face your first hostile encounter with a Digimon given by ADAMAS, who provides your starting Digimon. By defeating different types of Digimons repeatedly, you trigger a process called Conversion, which allows you to acquire and develop over 450 unique Digimons. Each Digimon has distinct traits and unconventional evolution paths that don’t follow a set sequence.

Attributes and Elements: How to Beat the Odds

The combat system, based on turns, centers on the clash between Digimon Attributes and Elements. These collisions foster an intricate battlefield, encouraging the development of more sophisticated strategies.

• Element: Fire, Water, Plant, and others (11 total)

Digimon that resemble viruses are vulnerable to those that are vaccine-like, and these in turn are vulnerable to data-type Digimon. The other categories of Digimon have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Each individual Digimon also has resistances and vulnerabilities when it comes to the elements.

When facing a Virus-type opponent, boosting your damage by 100% can be achieved by using a Vaccine-type Digimon in attack. Moreover, if the opponent is weak against Water, employing Water-type abilities could potentially multiply the damage even more! Conversely, when both attribute and element mismatches occur, the damage dealt will likely be substantially reduced.

As a gamer, I seize the upper hand in battles by amassing diverse Digimon companions. These digital creatures can either be transformed from existing ones or evolved through Digivolution. Unlike traditional evolution, Digivolution isn’t a straightforward process; instead, it branches out based on specific conditions met. Moreover, Digimon can revert to their younger forms, referred to as De-digivolution, opening up versatile tactics for their training and development.

Digimon Personalities: Daring or Adoring?

In the latest addition to Time Stranger, there’s a feature called Personality Types for each Digimon. These personalities determine how stats develop, what skills are acquired, and even the circumstances under which they digivolve.

In other words, a Digimon with a bold character tends to develop stronger attack and defense abilities, which makes it more effective when launching physical attacks.

Additionally, they can acquire abilities linked to their character traits that boost their battle prowess. A Digimon’s personality is set upon conversion, but it can be altered subsequently through conversations and practice utilizing unique artifacts in the Digifarm.

This implies that two identical Digimons might exhibit distinct behaviors due to their unique personalities.

Agent Skills: Lend a Helping Hand

The latest feature introduced is called Agent Skills, which symbolizes the player’s unique capabilities as an ADAMAS agent. By accomplishing missions, players can accumulate points that grant access to diverse effects – like upgrading Digimon with particular traits, boosting experience acquisition, or simplifying digivolution prerequisites. These skills offer additional layers of strategy when preparing for battles.
