Update [Wed 11th Feb 2026, 5:45am]:
Game Science, the developer of Black Myth: Zhong Kui, has announced the game will be available on PC and all major gaming consoles. While this likely includes the PlayStation 5, it hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Okay, so I was checking out the new Lunar New Year trailer Sony put up, and it’s got a ‘PS5 Games’ tag in the title. That’s a pretty strong hint that the sequel is definitely being made for the PS5! It’s really exciting to see that it’s still in the works for the console.
Interestingly, PlayStation didn’t actually post the initial trailer for Zhong Kui, so this announcement feels like a confirmation through unofficial channels.
With Lunar New Year approaching, the creators of Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science, have announced they’re working on a surprise.
Although it hasn’t been officially confirmed for consoles, most people would be surprised if the upcoming game, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, didn’t come to PlayStation. However, given the game’s development time, it might not be released until the PS6 is out!
The trailer looks fantastic, as you’d expect from this studio, and was created using the game’s actual engine. However, the description notes that the story shown isn’t part of the official game and is just for fun.
Even so, it’s a surprisingly impressive tech demonstration, combining a cooking scene with moments that can be quite disturbing.
The visuals are really impressive, with incredibly detailed art. The scene feels lively and full of activity, from the steam rising off the food to the many characters interacting with each other.
This short video shows the studio is working harder after the huge popularity of Black Myth: Wukong.
Since the trailer doesn’t mention a release date, and it’s just a fun, non-official preview, don’t expect to be able to play the game anytime in the near future.
