Elissa Finley was almost blinded on her search for love.
A contestant on the Netflix show Love Is Blind had a scary medical issue during filming for season 10, which premiered on February 11th. Viewers saw her run into the women’s lounge, visibly distressed and exclaiming for help.
A producer, speaking from behind the camera, reassured her, “I understand you’re frightened.” Simultaneously, a crew member informed her that she would need to leave the set.
Elissa, age 38, mistakenly used nail glue instead of eye drops, and had to be taken to the hospital as a result.
She came back for the second episode of the dating show and excitedly told her fellow contestants how much she’d missed them.
I was so shocked to hear about what happened to Elissa, a nurse here in Ohio. She explained that she went to grab some eye drops, but accidentally reached for a tiny bottle of nail glue instead! Can you imagine? She thought she was putting drops in her eye and… well, it was nail glue!
“I was scared,” she continued. “I thought I was gonna lose sight. Nail glue, what?!”
Elissa said her vision got blurry and is still slightly painful, even with treatment.
When I arrived at the hospital, they connected me to an IV and started flushing my eye with fluid,” she explained. “The doctor was removing the glue – it was a terrible experience, and I really regret what happened.
Despite the difficult experience, Elissa kept a positive attitude. When a fellow cast member playfully suggested she was fully embodying the Love Is Blind theme with her vision problems, Elissa jokingly replied, “I’m all in.”

Indeed, Elissa shared that she’s looking for the real deal on the show.
She described a past dating frustration, explaining, ‘They wanted a relationship, but not one that included my family.’ Now, she’s looking forward to simpler things with a partner, like grocery shopping, cooking, and relaxing together watching TV.
