There’s a growing buzz that Marvel Studios could be bringing back a key character from the old Netflix Marvel shows for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. This character, aside from the Punisher, played a significant part in almost every Netflix Marvel series, acting as a central link between them. They consistently helped the heroes and built strong relationships with them along the way.
Rosario Dawson could be back as Claire Temple in Daredevil: Born Again
A new report suggests Rosario Dawson may return as Claire Temple in the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again. Industry insider Daniel Richtman shared that discussions are happening between Dawson and Marvel Studios about her reprising the role, according to his Patreon page.
This rumor surfaced two months after Richtman mentioned on Patreon that Dawson’s Temple was expected to be featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
As of now, Marvel Studios hasn’t officially said whether Rosario Dawson will be involved in these projects.
While it’s not officially confirmed, Rosario Dawson wants to return as Claire Temple in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She responded to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) in February 2024, saying she’d be happy to reprise the role, hinting at “unfinished business.”
The Claire Temple we see in live-action shows is a blend of two characters from the comics: the original Claire Temple and another character known as Night Nurse (or Linda Carter).
Karen Page, known as Dawson’s Temple, was first introduced in the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil series. She initially meets Matt Murdock (Daredevil) when she discovers him wounded and abandoned. She cares for him and becomes his ongoing medical support. Karen and Matt develop romantic feelings for each other, but ultimately decide against a relationship because of the dangers associated with his life as a vigilante.
Later, Dr. Temple appears in Jessica Jones, where she provides care for a severely injured Luke Cage after Jessica brings him to the hospital. She then shows up in Season 2 of Daredevil, having resigned from her position at Metro-General Hospital. This decision follows the death of a colleague in an attack by the Hand, which the hospital attempts to conceal.
Jessica Jones continues to appear in the shows Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. During these appearances, she develops a romantic relationship with Luke Cage and meets Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist. However, their relationship eventually ends due to Cage’s personal struggles.
