Channel 4 is currently the fastest-growing streaming service in 2026, and they’re also seeing a big increase in viewers on YouTube.
The broadcaster’s streaming viewership surged by 25% in January compared to the previous year, marking its largest increase among major streaming services.
In January, the broadcaster’s traditional TV viewership increased by 14% compared to the previous year – surpassing all other major streaming services. This growth happened across all age groups, notably with a 18% increase among 16-34 year olds, which was also higher than its competitors’ growth in that demographic.
Meanwhile, views of full episodes of Channel 4 shows on YouTube grew 15 per cent year-on-year.
The broadcaster saw increased viewership in both streaming and traditional TV in January, thanks to hit shows like “Patience” – the most-watched drama online that month – and other popular programs including “The Great Pottery Throw Down,” “What Not to Eat,” “Secret Genius,” and “Catching a Killer.”

Channel 4’s Ian Katz highlighted the channel’s success in attracting younger viewers to streaming services last year, while also demonstrating that traditional TV remains popular.
We expect to keep growing beyond market trends through 2026, reaching more viewers on both streaming platforms and traditional television.
Popular shows like Taskmaster and The Great Pottery Throw Down continue to do well, and new programs such as Patience, What Not to Eat, and Secret Genius are also attracting viewers. These results demonstrate that our unique and distinctly British programming is connecting with audiences.
