Breezy Johnson Gets Engaged at Olympics 2026 Finish Line

A gold medal isn’t the only bling Breezy Johnson is leaving Italy with.

Just days after winning Team USA’s first gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Breezy received a wonderful surprise at the finish line of her super-G race: her boyfriend, Connor Watkins, proposed.

In a video shared by Today, Connor knelt and told his partner, “You’ve worked incredibly hard and accomplished so much. Despite everything, you still make time to love me, make me feel special, and, most importantly, help me to love myself.”

As both Connor and Breezy became emotional, Connor said, “I only want to spend the rest of my life with you. Breezy, I love you—will you marry me?”

With tears streaming down her face, the 30-year-old woman nodded yes, and she and her partner shared a kiss as their teammates and family cheered.

Connor didn’t propose alone—he got a little help from Taylor Swift!

Despite a tough super-G run where she crashed after hitting a course barrier, Breezy had a bright moment to celebrate.

After the proposal, she told Craig Melvin, Carson Daly, and Hoda Kotb on Today that when you make mistakes in ski racing, it’s embarrassing and you just want to connect with loved ones. Seeing him was a highlight, and after that, everything felt overwhelming.

Watching Breezy win gold and compete in her second Olympics was an unbelievably strange experience, and Connor confessed he was more nervous watching her than he had been when proposing, he said.

Despite a tough super-G run where she crashed after hitting a course barrier, Breezy still had a bright moment to celebrate.

Oh my gosh, she was SO cute explaining it on Today! She said that when you mess up a ski run like that, you just feel totally silly and all you want to do is call your loved ones. And then she saw him – she was so excited just talking about it! – and after that, she said everything was just a whirlwind. Honestly, it was the sweetest thing ever! I’m obsessed with everything about this!

Watching Breezy win gold and compete in her second Olympics was a remarkably strange experience, and Connor confessed he was even more nervous watching from the sidelines than he had been before proposing.

He admitted he gets anxious whenever she skis downhill. He really wanted her to have a good run, but her safety was his main concern. When she got up after falling and seemed okay, he breathed a sigh of relief, but then his heart started pounding because he knew it was his turn to go down and propose.

Overall, “it’s been lovely though,” he confirmed. “It’s been incredible.”

Breezy told NBC News she might have let Connor know she’d always dreamed of getting proposed to at the Olympics, but the actual proposal was even more amazing than she’d imagined.

She explained that things were much more chaotic and exciting than she expected, with everything happening at once. She also said the actual experience was far different—and much better—than what she’d pictured.
