Tayutama: It’s happy days first launched for PC on May 29, 2009 in Japan.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

■ About

In this new version, overseen by Lump of Sugar, we’ve transformed it into a family-friendly adventure, enhanced with partial high-definition upgrades, and translated for worldwide enjoyment in various languages.

■ Story

Spending wild and transformative times with the Tayutai were experiences beyond description… To such an extent, I even momentarily overlooked that I had won a hot spring trip from the shopping district raffle.

Now that everything has calmed down, here I am—Yuri Mito—ready to savor my final summer vacation as a student at Sohsei Academy.

After reaching a point of utter fatigue due to recent events, I was reminded of something – an almost expired voucher for a hot spring that I had completely overlooked.

I’m sharing a tale that continues the epic saga, perhaps even filling in some gaps between the significant moments… or possibly imagining an alternative adventure that might have unfolded amidst the storyline.

■ Characters

Mashiro Mito (voiced by Risa Matsuda)

Upon our encounter, I couldn’t help but proclaim Yuri as my spouse right off the bat, even going so far as to appear at his side on the first day back to school. My ardor for Yuri is something often described as “intense,” leading me to reside in the Mito household. However, I should clarify that I’m not entirely human…as a Tayutai.

Mashiro remains calm and patient, yet stirring up her wrath becomes even more chilling. At first glance, she might appear innocent, but her perspective on life is simply a bit behind the times.

Ameri Kawai (voiced by Kaori Hanano

Yuri’s long-time friend and fellow schoolmate hails from Sohsei Academy’s Slightly department. Interestingly, her father holds the position of academy director. Recently, she seems to enjoy picking on both Yuri and Sankuro in her spare time.

She’s quite determined and convincing when it comes to involving others in her approach to situations, yet when it comes to matters of the heart, she tends to be more shy…

Mifuyu Kisaragi (voiced by Rina Misaki)

Mifuyu is the head of the Perfectionist Girls’ Dormitory at Sohsei Academy, a role befitting her as an heir to the Kisaragi Conglomerate. She has been nurtured to be strong-willed and inspiring, and she demonstrates this through her skills in swordsmanship and martial arts. However, she is not without her imperfections.

She seems to prefer reading romantic novels that portray love stories in an overly idealized manner, which might pose a challenge for someone who is more grounded in reality… or a typical male.

Yumina Takanashi (voiced by Yu Aoto)

Yumina regards Yuri as an older brother. Her biological parents, who faced financial ruin, entrusted her to the Mito household for upbringing. Regrettably, Mari Mito, the family’s matriarch, passed away before our story begins, leaving a void of maternal figure. Consequently, Yumina was adopted by the Takanashi family due to concerns about the lack of a motherly presence in her life.

She often struggles with tasks when others are around due to nerves, but she’s perfectly fine putting in effort, especially when it comes to managing housework. Interestingly, she frequently becomes engrossed in her creative thoughts.

Nue (voiced by Mika)

Among the Three Immensely Powerful Tayutais, formidable entities once confined within ancient relics by the Divine Princess Kikuramikami no Hime.

Approximately 500 years back, she assumed a shape resembling a human, though an unexplained event caused her to lose her memories and she’s been in this state ever since.

Following Mifuyu’s proposal to act as her guardian, she soon developed a strong bond with her, exuding a bright, guileless aura that instantly comforts everyone around them.

Ouryu (voiced by Taiyo Sorano)

As a devoted admirer, I find myself recounting the tale of one formidable being, hidden deep within the remnants of ancient civilizations, locked away by the graceful Kikuramikami no Hime for all time.

Initially, it was believed that Mashiro perceived humans as mere prey, but surprisingly, the reality was just the opposite; he actually imagined a unique form of cohabitation rather than humans being his prey.

Despite typically concealing himself in the Kawai family’s garden pond, he frequently assumes a human form to mingle with the crowd.
