Good Omens season 3 release date confirmed after 3-year break from screens

It’s been a long time coming, but Good Omens season 3 finally has a release date.

The final episode of the fantasy series, starring David Tennant as a demon and Michael Sheen as an angel, will be available on Prime Video on May 13th. The duo works together to prevent the apocalypse in the show, and this new episode comes almost three years after the last season aired.

Okay, the wait is officially over! After a playful buildup on social media, it’s confirmed: we’re getting more Good Omens! The short teaser they dropped shows the team prepping Aziraphale’s bookshop, and it’s a lovely little detail – the ‘Closed’ sign flips to ‘Open’. It’s a simple visual, but it definitely gets you excited for what’s to come.

The last season ended with many mysteries still unresolved, but also with a heartwarming moment: Aziraphale and Crowley confessed their feelings and shared a kiss before parting ways.

Details about how the show will end are scarce, but Charlie Sheen recently hinted on X (formerly Twitter) that the finale will be divisive. He said some parts will be fantastic, while others will likely spark debate, and also mentioned the ending felt rushed as it was originally intended to be six episodes long.

It’s a truly wonderful production! The direction is superb, the acting is beautiful, and the costumes and overall work are outstanding. Plus, there’s a lovely, unexpected touch with the inclusion of nightingales.

As he explained, the final episode will only have 90 minutes to finish the story, since the season was made shorter than planned.

Following accusations of sexual assault – which he firmly rejects – Neil Gaiman, a writer on the series Good Omens, stepped away from the TV show. While he did contribute to the final episode’s writing, he wasn’t involved in the production itself, and his company, Blank Corporation, had no part in it.

Nine women have publicly accused the writer of misconduct. These allegations were reported in a January 2025 article by Vulture and discussed in a July 2024 podcast from Tortoise Media.

The accusations against Gaiman involved claims of sexual activity, including rough sex and BDSM, that occurred without consent. Gaiman has strongly denied these claims, stating that he has never engaged in any non-consensual or illegal behavior.

When I read these stories, some parts feel familiar, while others seem completely made up. It’s a mix of things that actually happened and things that definitely didn’t.

I’m not perfect, but I’ve never been involved in any sexual activity without the other person’s full consent. Not once.

Good Omens season 3 will arrive on Prime Video on 13 May 2026.
