Since its debut in 2024, the manga series Ichi the Witch has quickly become a hit in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The series recently revealed a vibrant, full-color illustration of Ichi’s most impressive transformation. Created by Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki, Ichi the Witch is becoming a key title for the magazine, and with its current, action-packed story arc, it’s easy to see why – it’s really pushing the character of Ichi to new heights.
The manga series Ichi the Witch is currently exploring a challenging storyline called the Pendulum Seas arc, where Ichi and her friends are battling their most powerful magical enemy yet. A surprising twist occurred when King Uroro briefly possessed Ichi’s body, giving him a unique appearance. This new look is now featured on the cover of Ichi the Witch Volume 7, which will be released in Japan this March. Publisher Shueisha has shared a preview of the cover art.
Ichi the Witch Volume 7 Cover Art Highlights Ichi’s Uroro Takeover

The manga Ichi the Witch is currently in the Pendulum Seas storyline, and readers are eager to see how the story will end. A major event so far has been Uroro taking complete control of Ichi’s body. This happened after Ichi exhausted his powers trying – and failing – to defeat Octobomb Majik Kizashi, leaving an opening for Uroro to seize control. As a result, Ichi now has a new appearance inspired by the King of Majiks, and recent artwork has revealed the official colors of this new form.
Uroro attempts to take over Ichi’s body, but it’s revealed they previously agreed Uroro could use it for five minutes. This was the first time viewers saw Uroro demonstrate his full magical abilities—Ichi had only been using a fraction of his power before. However, Ichi quickly regains control of his body, ending Uroro’s access.
What This Form Means for Ichi the Witch’s Future?
I’ve been watching Ichi closely, and it’s become clear that Uroro’s influence is fundamentally changing him. The story recently revealed that his body actually remembers when Uroro takes over, and this is giving him a surprising ability to manipulate the magic around him. He can’t hold onto it for very long yet, but it’s definitely a sign of how he’ll become much more powerful. However, this whole situation also feels like it’s building towards something even more dangerous.
Uroro briefly possessed Ichi’s body, suggesting he could do so again in the future. Even though Ichi ultimately regained control, the incident hints at a coming moment where Ichi might be vulnerable. This makes for a really exciting development, and it will be interesting to see where this ability leads the story.
