5 Emmerdale spoilers next week: Laurel Thomas suffers a devastating fall after confrontation with Arthur

Next week on Emmerdale, Joe Tate will continue his manipulative plans, and this time he’s setting his sights on Cain Dingle, looking to exploit his weaknesses.

Cain is facing a lot right now: a cancer diagnosis, his wife Moira being in prison, and now trouble with the Tate family. Could Graham Foster potentially help him out of this difficult situation?

Following Ray Walters’s funeral, Arthur Thomas is upset and takes his frustration out on his mother, Laurel. The funeral also stirs up complicated emotions for Bear Wolf, leaving the villagers divided and grappling with past feelings.

Vinny Dingle is concerned his romance with Lewis Barton might be ending, and Jacob Gallagher begins a new chapter in his life.

Here’s a rundown of what’s happening on Emmerdale from February 23rd to 27th.

5 Emmerdale spoilers for next week

1. Joe Tate plots against Cain Dingle

When Joe found out Cain had stolen his car, he decided it was time to get even and asked Graham to handle it.

Cain Dingle at Butler’s Farm is struggling with financial problems, and his granddaughter Sarah Sugden proposes they steal more cars to make money. He doesn’t like the idea and tries to discourage her.

Graham went to the farmhouse to steal the keys to the DeLorean, but he unexpectedly found a letter about Cain’s cancer. He was discovered reading it, but Cain was too weak to put up a fight.

I really believed Graham when he said some joyriders took the car, especially since Joe had it back. He seemed so upset and guilty, it was easy to buy his story.

Graham later returns to Butler’s and tells Cain he knows about his prostate cancer. He pleads with Cain to end his feud with the Tates and prioritize his health. They share an uneasy handshake, acknowledging their mutual respect. However, Kim has been watching from a distance and mistakenly believes they’ve formed an alliance.

The next day, she encouraged Joe to see where his father stood by hinting he should damage Cain’s equipment.

Sarah figures out Cain is planning one last car theft and insists on helping. He refuses, but she’s determined to be part of it.

Okay, so things went totally sideways when a tree fell and took out the barn – instantly trapping all the sheep! It was a real crisis. Cain, naturally, tried to be the leader, but I was floored to see Graham actually stepping up to help. Honestly, everyone thought it was a lost cause, but somehow, against all odds, they managed to save the whole flock. It was pretty intense!

Relieved after the rescue operation, Cain went to see Moira in prison, but was shocked to see she had a black eye – another result of a fight while she was incarcerated.

Will she be OK?

2. Ray Walters’s burial casts a shadow over the village

With Ray’s funeral approaching, Dylan and Laurel are both struggling with the news. Laurel asks Charles to go in her place, but when he encourages her to come with him, she hesitates and begins to reconsider.

Paddy, Mandy, and Dylan decide to hide the funeral from Bear, worried it will bring back painful memories for him. Laurel chooses to travel with Charles and Claudette, not realizing Bear overheard their plans and is determined to go as well.

Paddy is thrown into a panic when he realizes his father attended the funeral. He fears seeing Ray’s body will be devastating for his dad and angrily confronts Laurel, blaming her for allowing it to happen.

Bear explodes in response, and Paddy’s left devastated at the sight of his father unravelling.

Manpreet is struggling and won’t give up the painkillers he desperately wants. Later, Laurel discovers him drinking by himself and kindly offers to help, letting him know she’ll be there for him.

Aaron discovers Bear and takes him in, subtly revealing his own history of being mistreated, hoping Bear will understand. Others tell Bear not to feel responsible, but Bear believes Aaron isn’t in a position to criticize until he understands everything that happened.

3. Arthur Thomas pushes Laurel onto the staircase

Arthur is struggling with the revelation that Laurel attended the burial.

Honestly, things have been incredibly strained between this mother and son for weeks now. It all started when she actually slapped him – a really shocking moment. Then I found out he’d been secretly hiding thousands of pounds that belonged to Ray, and it turned out to be drug money! He immediately threatened to blackmail her if she ever breathed a word of it to anyone. It’s a total mess, and I’m completely hooked to see how it plays out.

The tension between them will build to a terrifying climax when Arthur unintentionally causes her to fall down the stairs.

Will Laurel be OK?

4. Vinny Dingle fears his relationship with Lewis Barton has hit a dead end

Lewis and Vinny are falling for each other, but Ross keeps trying to push them together, even though they’re already connecting.

The pair assist Cain in rescuing the sheep, and amid the adrenaline rush, they lock lips!

Things were going better than ever, and they decided to call it an early night. However, Lewis quickly left, making Vinny worry that their connection might already be fading.

5. Jacob Gallagher suffers another setback at work

Dr. Todd, played by Caroline Harker, is coming back to the show next week and will be involved in a new storyline about bullying at work.

When Jacob makes a mistake at work, she gives him a firm telling off.

Harker expressed her excitement about returning to Emmerdale to reprise her role as Doctor Todd, stating she’s happy to be staying for a more extended period.

This character is complicated, and it seems Jacob will have a hard time dealing with her. The show will explore the common issue of workplace bullying, which should be compelling to watch in a drama like Emmerdale.

As a huge fan of this show, I’m really excited to see what Caitlin Todd’s character gets up to! Producer Laura Shaw hinted that we’ll be watching her cause some trouble, and it won’t be limited to just the hospital setting – she’s going to be making waves everywhere, which I think is fantastic.

Caroline is a talented actor who perfectly fits the role, and we’re excited to see her bring our vision for the character to life.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
