‘Finally, RAM I Can Actually Afford’: Players Poke Fun at PC Building Simulator 2 on PS5

With the rising prices of RAM, there’s never been a worse time to build a PC really.

Some fans jokingly suggest that the new PC Building Simulator 2 on PS5 should be considered a fantasy game, as the high cost of older computer parts now makes them unaffordable for most players.

As a fan of the first game, this one feels really familiar! You basically build PCs from scratch, and what’s cool is they use actual, licensed parts – so it feels pretty authentic.

Amusingly, though, it does feature a full campaign mode, as detailed below:

Choose your playstyle! In ‘Story Mode,’ work for ‘Uncle Tim’ to build your PC repair and customization business. Test your skills and survival instincts in ‘Endless Mode,’ or simply enjoy building without financial worries in ‘Freebuild Mode.’

The current shortage of RAM, driven by high demand from companies working on artificial intelligence, is the newest in a series of global economic problems. It’s similar to the chip shortages we saw a few years ago, which were caused by the pandemic.

I’m hearing some really worrying stuff! Apparently, even PlayStation might be facing problems. There’s talk they’re thinking about pushing back the release of the PS6 – it was supposed to come out in 2027, but now it could be delayed until 2028 or even 2029! It’s a big deal if that happens.

It’s nice that PC Building Simulator 2 doesn’t have the RAM shortages we see in real life! It really lets you live out a dream PC building experience. The game launches on February 26th.
