Grand Cayman Star Cass Lacelle Dead at 34 After Cancer Battle

The Freeform family is mourning one of their own.

Cass Lacelle, known for appearing on the reality show Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise, has passed away at the age of 34. Her family confirmed she died less than a year after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cass after a brave fight with cancer. In a statement on February 16th, her family shared that her impact will be forever remembered.

She was unforgettable, leaving a remarkable impression on everyone she met in her 34 years. She showed us how important it is to cherish life, live it to the fullest, and avoid wasting any moment. She hated being bored and had a special talent for making people feel energized and connected – she truly brought people together.

The reality TV star, who had been openly sharing her health journey on social media since her diagnosis in May 2025, wanted her fans to continue receiving updates, even after she passed away.

It was just… incredible how she could really connect with everyone, like she had this gift for making you feel seen and understood. It felt like a superpower, honestly. And they said she wanted one last message shared, because she touched so many lives, all over the place, and she hoped it would bring some comfort to remember all the good times we had with her. It’s just… heartbreaking, but beautiful too, knowing how much she meant to so many people.

They lovingly remembered Cass, saying, “You were incredibly strong for so long, and you never gave up.” They marked her life with the dates September 27, 1991 – February 11, 2026, calling her their ‘Fireheart’.

In the comments, Cass’ Grand Cayman castmates paid their respects.

Chelsea Flynn shared, “You were a bright light, and I’m heartbroken whenever I think of you.” Aaron Bernardino simply wrote, “Rest in peace, Cass. Forever in our hearts,” along with a red heart and dove emoji.

Julian Foster shared a heartfelt message, saying, “Your spirit will always be with us, inspiring us to be our best. We love you dearly.”

Cass passed away just under two months after revealing that her cancer had come back, even though she had completed chemotherapy.

In a recent Instagram post, she shared that her cancer has returned and is now more aggressive, having spread to her liver, stomach, the lining of her abdomen, and a tissue layer called the omentum. She also mentioned she hasn’t had a day without pain since mid-November.

Cass has been hospitalized since early December and expects to remain there for the foreseeable future as she continues cancer treatment. She expressed gratitude for the support she’s received from her fans.

I just wanted to let you all know that I’m receiving and feeling all your supportive messages, prayers, and well wishes every day. Dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy and pain medication often makes it hard for me to reply, but I truly appreciate all your love and support.

She also showed love to those who stuck by her side throughout her health battle.

I want to express huge thanks to everyone who has gone above and beyond to help me, whether by being here in person every day or by providing incredible support from behind the scenes. I’m so grateful, I can’t even find the words to say it.
