Bebe Rexha Details Makeout Session With Fan That Inspired New Song

A night out in Tokyo was meant to be for Bebe Rexha.

The singer of “Meant to Be” explained that a night of dancing with both friends and people she didn’t know in Tokyo sparked the idea for a song on her latest album, Dirty Blonde.

Bebe described going to a nightclub and having an unexpected encounter. She said she was dancing with a woman, and they ended up kissing. According to Bebe, who shared the story on Page Six Radio’s Virtual Reali-tea show on February 13th, the other woman approached her while she was dancing with a group of people.

She said they had an amazing night, and she knew she had to turn the experience into a song.

Bebe revealed that her new song, “Tokyo,” features the line, “I kissed a girl in Tokyo.”

As for if she and the mystery woman have kept in touch since? 

“To be honest, we all had way too much to drink. I can barely remember,” Bebe went on. “She was a fan of his. Is that strange?”

In addition to saying she’s open to dating a fan, the singer of “I’m Good (Blue)” has shared that she’s drawn to anyone who sparks her inspiration.

In a 2021 interview with Gay Times, Bebe explained her views on sexuality, saying it exists on a spectrum. She confirmed she has dated women in the past, stating, ‘I have gone out with girls before. Yes, I have.’

She’s been in love with a woman before, but she finds relationships with women overwhelming. She explained that she struggles with the intense emotions and dynamics that come with it, saying she personally can’t handle that level of intensity.

Regardless, Bebe has described her sexuality as “fluid.”

In a 2020 interview with Health magazine, she explained she wasn’t ready to label her identity until she found a loving partner. She shared that she’s simply looking for someone to love and who loves her in return, and gender isn’t a factor.
