As a huge Star Wars fan, I’m really excited about seeing what happens next with Din Djarin and Grogu! The new movie, ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu,’ continues their story right after the Disney+ show ended, and it looks like we’re getting a really detailed look at their adventures on the big screen.
Over three seasons, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) transformed from a detached bounty hunter into a caring father figure while protecting the force-sensitive Grogu.
The newest trailer shows more of the funny side of this unusual parent-and-child dynamic, with the tough Mandalorian trying to keep his young charge from messing with the ship’s controls and indulging in a serious cookie habit. It’s a surprisingly scary situation!
Things quickly get more exciting when the pair are recruited by a New Republic official, played by Sigourney Weaver, to look into a scheme connected to a member of the Hutt crime family, with Jeremy Allen White of “The Bear” providing the voice.
The latest trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu just added another famous voice actor to the cast! Can you identify them by watching the trailer, or check below to find out who it is.

According to USA Today, legendary director Martin Scorsese – known for films like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, and Killers of the Flower Moon – is joining the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Martin Scorsese has occasionally acted in small roles, often playing himself in comedies like “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “30 Rock,” “Entourage,” and “The Studio.”
In his newest role, he voices an alien who runs a food van. The alien is friendly at first when Din asks questions, but quickly becomes hostile when the Hutt family is brought up.

Jon Favreau, the director of The Mandalorian & Grogu, previously collaborated with Martin Scorsese on the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street, appearing as the character Manny Riskin.
Okay, so Dave Filoni, a key creative force at Lucasfilm, actually co-wrote the script for this new Star Wars movie with Jon Favreau. That’s exciting! But honestly, the trailers have been pretty tight-lipped. We’ve gotten glimpses, but they’re not really giving much away about the actual story just yet. It’s leaving us all wondering what direction they’re taking things!
The story could continue the journey of Grand Admiral Thrawn (played by Lars Mikkelsen), which started in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels and then appeared in live-action episodes of The Mandalorian season 2 and the Ahsoka series.

Lately, the Star Wars franchise, under Dave Filoni’s direction, has been drawing heavily from the animated series he previously worked on. The newest trailer includes characters like Zeb from Rebels (voiced by Steve Blum) and Embo, a more obscure character from The Clone Wars.
It would also be interesting to explore the story of Grogu, who comes from the same rare species as Yoda and Yaddle. (Yes, Yaddle is a real Star Wars character!)
As a big Star Wars fan, I know all eyes will be on how well The Mandalorian & Grogu does in theaters. It’s the first Star Wars film to hit the big screen since the last of the sequel trilogy came out in 2019, and Disney is definitely going to be paying close attention to the numbers. It’s a big moment for the franchise!
The Mandalorian & Grogu is coming to cinemas on Friday 22 May 2026.
