Carl Webster (played by Jonathan Howard) is in danger in Coronation Street. A recent episode hinted he could be a future murder victim, leaving viewers worried about his fate.
It’s no secret he’s made enemies with a lot of people in Weatherfield, so there are plenty who might want him gone. Today’s episode revealed two people who could be responsible.
As fans of the show are aware, Carl was prepared to admit he was responsible for Billy Mayhew’s death due to reckless driving, hoping to protect Debbie from being blamed. However, just as he was about to confess, Debbie revealed she’s actually his mother.
With a lot of emotion, she shared that she had given him to her father and stepmother to be raised when he was a baby, about forty years ago.

Carl was extremely angry and declared he no longer intended to confess. He’d rather she be imprisoned for the rest of her life.
Debbie is currently serving a sentence of two years and eight months, and recently encountered a former guest from the hotel where she used to work while in prison. Paula, a tough woman named Kelli Hollis, had previously been kicked out of the Chariot Square bar and wasn’t willing to let go of her grudge against Debbie.
Paula unexpectedly entered Debbie’s cell and began crying, telling her that she had just broken up with her boyfriend.

Debbie tried to comfort Paula by suggesting she might be better off without her partner, but this backfired and Paula ended up hitting her.
It was obvious something was wrong, and when her husband, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), and brother, Kevin (Michael Le Vell), came to see her, they noticed she had a black eye.
Everyone questioned if Carl was being honest about who his parents were, suspecting it could be another one of his manipulative stories. She verified that his claim was actually true, and admitted it was something she deeply regretted.

The men trapped Carl in the Rovers beer garden and began hitting him. After knocking him down, Kevin threatened him, saying that if Carl didn’t help get Debbie released from custody, he would face serious consequences.
But would Kevin and Carl really go to the length of killing him?
