Adult Swim Fan-Favorite Expands 2026 Comeback Thanks to Popular Demand

Popular Adult Swim shows like Rick and Morty and Smiling Friends are continuing with new seasons, but some older Cartoon Network series have already ended their runs. Shows like The Venture Bros, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Teenage Euthanasia have all finished airing new episodes. Interestingly, a few of these franchises have found success beyond television, discovering new ways to share their unique stories with fans.

Dethklok, the band from the show Metalocalypse, is hitting the road again this year! Creator Brendon Small will be performing the show’s most popular songs. The “Amonklok Tour” kicks off April 15th in Phoenix, Arizona, and will travel across North America. They’ll be joined by the iconic heavy metal band Amon Amarth, playing shows throughout the western United States. Due to popular demand, more dates have been added to the tour, with confirmed shows now including Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and San Diego. Dethklok’s Reign of Terror

Though the TV show Metalocalypse ended on Adult Swim in 2013, the story continued with two full-length movies. These films, Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem and Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar, weren’t released in theaters, but they provided fans with a satisfying conclusion to the series. Nearly ten years after the show ended, Army of the Doomstar brought creator Brendon Small back to tie up all the loose ends from the Cartoon Network series.

Brendon Small recently told The Logan Show that the timing of the new tour is perfect, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Metalocalypse. He explained that taking ownership of the live music side of things was unexpectedly challenging. He hadn’t realized it would involve financial risk, coordinating with other bands, and handling all the organizational details.

I unintentionally created a fantastic support system – including tour managers, production staff, and agents – and realized this is a creative field I can fully control independently. It’s still surprising that I handle all the licensing myself, but it’s worth it to keep the project going. By maintaining it, I keep fans engaged and curious. So, both the audience and I are essentially keeping this project alive, which allows me to continue making new animated content.
