Robot Chicken, a staple for Adult Swim, has been entertaining viewers for nearly two decades by poking fun at various aspects of pop culture. Although the stop-motion series is now focusing on occasional specials, Seth Green and Matthew Senreich continue to be involved. In anticipation of twenty years of Robot Chicken, a fresh special is coming up soon, promising more of their signature humor on Cartoon Network. During an interview with Green and Senreich, we at egmr.ru discovered that there was a memorable skit that didn’t make it past the editing room.
In our conversation with the creators of Robot Chicken, Seth and Matthew revealed that they had planned to make a sketch based on My Pet Monster. Initially, this sketch underwent numerous changes. The concept revolved around one child visiting another’s house where a My Pet Monster was kept in chains in a corner. The owner kid warns the visitor not to touch it or let it out, then leaves to fetch milk. This leaves the other child alone with the monster that pleads to be freed.
Green went on to explain, “One idea included the child liberating the monster and then the monster killing him. Another concept had My Pet Monster causing chaos down the street with a child shouting, ‘What have you done?’ We experimented with several concepts that didn’t make it to the show.” Seth remained optimistic about the skit being produced someday, commenting, “I really hope we can create it eventually; the concept is just too intriguing.

The Future of Robot Chicken
Previously noted, Senreich and Green are abandoning traditional full seasons for “Robot Chicken” and instead opting to carry on the series through special episodes. During our discussion, the co-creators explained their decision: “The shift in streaming platforms and their mergers significantly impacts our work. Producing half-hour specials is more effective in expressing all our ideas and gaining the support of these companies. The previous seasonal approach was primarily designed for advertising models that no longer apply as extensively as they once did.
Fortunately for me, as a keen observer, I won’t have to wait long before catching fresh skits from the beloved Adult Swim series, “Robot Chicken.” The team is set to unveil “The Robot Chicken Self-Discovery Special” on July 20th, offering a star-studded lineup and more skits that poke fun at nostalgia in their signature twisted manner. Although no definite plans for future specials have been announced yet, during our recent interview, Seth Green and Matthew Senreich assured us that new episodes are definitely on the horizon.
