Cheryl Burke is waltzing away from the haters.
The former Dancing With the Stars contestant responded to comments about her appearance, particularly regarding the shape of her eyebrows.
Cheryl addressed comments about her eyebrows appearing low by explaining it’s due to the structure of her face, specifically that she has naturally deep-set temples, as she shared in an Instagram video on February 19th.
The 41-year-old admitted she’s considered getting facial fillers and is likely to go through with it. However, she wishes people would stop commenting on her appearance and asks her critics to respect her decision.
Cheryl acknowledged she’s noticed her temples looking a bit hollow. She said she’s considering getting fillers to address it, but for now, she’d rather people focus on themselves instead.
The dancer explained again that she doesn’t actually draw her eyebrows down to her cheeks. Instead, she creates the illusion of lower brows by shading the areas around her temples.
Cheryl added in an amused tone, “Should we pick on your face now?”
She also added a message to the video’s description, encouraging people to focus less on appearances and more on creating things that matter.

Cheryl has received negative comments about her appearance before, particularly after appearing as a guest judge on the Halloween episode of Dancing With the Stars last October, when she also faced criticism regarding her scoring.
She acknowledged seeing a lot of different opinions online, which she understood was normal. However, she was upset by the number of harsh and critical comments, especially those focused on her body, as she shared in an Instagram video.
She went on to say that if you think it’s okay to criticize someone’s body, especially while your kids are around, you’re teaching them that kindness isn’t important.

Cheryl has often openly discussed the intense public attention she faced during her time on Dancing with the Stars and how it impacted her life.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June, she revealed she struggles with body dysmorphia, which she attributes to growing up as a dancer constantly looking at herself in mirrors.
She explained that she’s prioritizing her own well-being. ‘I need to choose to be healthy,’ she said, ‘and that’s my top priority right now. That’s actually why I’m not focusing on dating – I’m working on feeling good from the inside out, and anything else will happen when the time is right.’

I was honestly shocked and a little upset recently. I posted a TikTok in May 2024 and saw two complete strangers leaving comments about my body. It felt like a really big moment – not a good one, but a milestone nonetheless – as a young woman navigating life online. It’s just… weird and unsettling to have people comment on your appearance like that.
She explained that one person told her she should use Ozempic because of her weight, while another accused her of being dangerously underweight. She pointed out that her weight hadn’t changed during this time, and even if it had, it wouldn’t be anyone else’s concern.
Ava emphasized that everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their appearance. She explained that you never know the challenges someone might be facing, and that true beauty goes far beyond how someone looks.

Following negative comments about her body, the singer of “I’m Good” responded to her critics, explaining she’s had enough of being judged for her appearance. In a June 2023 tweet, she acknowledged gaining weight, but firmly stated, “I’m just so sick of people talking about it. NEXT!!!!!!”
In another post, the 33-year-old explained that people’s weight naturally changes, and you never know the challenges someone might be facing – like dealing with medication or illness.

Okay, seriously, I was SO upset to see people commenting on AnnaSophia Robb’s body after that Instagram pic! She posted this really cute, silly photo, and people just started tearing her down, saying she looked too thin. It totally bummed her out, and she felt the need to explain herself, which she shouldn’t have had to do! She said the angle in the photo made her look smaller than she is, but even if it hadn’t, it’s just wrong for anyone to leave those kinds of judgmental comments about someone’s body. She was so right to call them out – it’s not okay, and nobody asked for your ‘unfiltered thoughts’ about how she looks! I’m just so glad she spoke up about it, it’s important to fight against that kind of body shaming.
She explained that commenting on her weight, whether to say she’s too thin or needs to eat, is unhelpful and constitutes body shaming. She firmly stated she won’t tolerate any form of body shaming.
Over a week later, she posted a bikini photo with a message for her critics, playfully telling them she’ll continue to smile no matter what, and sending them a kiss and peach emoji.

In February 2021, the actress publicly addressed rumors that she was pregnant. The speculation started when photos of her on a film set in Australia, wearing a dark blue tank top, circulated online. She directly criticized a news outlet, the New York Post, via Instagram, stating that it was unacceptable for people to comment on a woman’s body in 2021, and emphasizing she was not pregnant.

Christina Hall from Flip or Flop recently addressed online criticism about her body. In a video posted to Instagram, she explained that she’s actually at her natural weight, and people are simply noticing the changes after her pregnancies. She reassured viewers that she’s healthy and doing well, asking them not to worry.

The singer, who recently faced criticism online about her body and weight, responded to the negativity without saying a word.
Let me tell you, seeing her perform at Manchester Pride was a moment! She made a bold fashion statement, rocking an oversized tee with a striking image on it. The tee featured a woman’s silhouette wearing a cropped tank and a black push-up bra – definitely a head-turning look that really embraced self-expression and confidence on stage.

After my breakup with Jim Edmonds, it really hurt to see comments about my weight. I actually opened up on Instagram in December 2019 and admitted I was too thin, and that people were constantly telling me to ‘eat a burger.’ Honestly, I just asked for a little understanding. I’m doing my best to handle everything with grace, especially when my kids are my absolute priority.

The famous singer recently responded to criticism about their weight, telling Entertainment Tonight that they don’t see a problem with being thin. They explained that they’ve always been slender, and stay in shape through ballet, stretching, and workouts, which benefit their overall well-being.
She explained that criticism comes with the territory, and she focuses on what benefits her own well-being. She leaves behind anything that doesn’t serve her, trusting her management to handle any resulting issues. Ultimately, she believes it’s impossible to make everyone happy, so she prioritizes her own feelings and needs.

As a huge Lizzo fan, I was so empowered by what she said back in June 2020 when she addressed the body shamers. She posted a video explaining that for the past five years, she’s been consistently working out – not to achieve anyone else’s idea of the perfect body, but to feel amazing in her own skin. And honestly, her response was perfect: it’s none of our business what her body looks like! She’s beautiful, she’s strong, she’s a fantastic performer, and she deserves to focus on her work without judgment.

The singer known for her song “Confident” has consistently spoken out against body shaming. In a 2016 interview with Glamour, she shared that when someone calls her fat, even when she’s feeling insecure, she simply laughs it off. She explains that she’s doing her best, and she can’t control others’ opinions. She also admits she doesn’t have, nor does she necessarily want, a six-pack, finding the idea unappealing.

Following the actress’s decision to share a nude photo online, a user criticized her, writing in a now-deleted tweet that it was inappropriate for someone in their 50s to post such content, suggesting she should be enjoying time with her grandchildren instead. The commenter lamented what they saw as a lack of graceful aging.
Halle quickly responded with a playful comment, asking, “Did you know a shrimp’s heart is in its head?”

The “Señorita” star previously took to Instagram Stories to send a message to her haters.
She started a long post explaining that she’d been avoiding social media to protect her feelings. She’d briefly seen a headline about people criticizing her body, and her first reaction was to feel insecure and worry about what the pictures might look like. She immediately started thinking about perceived flaws like cellulite and not holding her stomach in. But then she realized it’s natural to have unflattering photos and that no one’s body is perfect. She added that it’s especially sad for young girls growing up seeing so much airbrushing and unrealistic standards of beauty.
I’m writing this for young girls growing up with social media. They’re constantly bombarded with heavily edited photos, and it’s easy to start believing that’s what everyone actually looks like. Over time, we become accustomed to seeing flawless, airbrushed skin, and it starts to seem normal – but it’s not! It’s fake, and increasingly, that’s being presented as reality. We’re developing an incredibly unrealistic idea of what a woman’s body should look like. Girls, remember that cellulite and fat are completely natural – and beautiful! I refuse to accept these unrealistic standards, and I hope you won’t either.

In May 2019, the singer shared a video of her performance at the Hangout Music Festival, where she was wearing a black leotard. Someone on social media commented, questioning why she didn’t appear as curvy as she used to, referencing a previous collaboration with two male country singers. The singer responded directly, stating she had gained weight and asking people to accept it.
She criticized the fashion industry, stating that multiple designers wouldn’t dress her for the Grammys due to her size. In a January 2019 Instagram post, she urged people to embrace body positivity, saying, “Let’s empower women to love their bodies, and stop making girls and women feel insecure about their size.” She emphasized that beauty comes in all sizes and proudly declared she would be attending the Grammys regardless, with the hashtag #LOVEYOURBODY.

The celebrity had previously shared a photo of her family celebrating the Golden State Warriors’ win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. In the picture, she’s holding her son, Canon. Someone then commented, asking if she was pregnant again.
Oh my gosh, when I asked if she’d pose for a picture, she was SO funny! She basically said ‘NO WAY!’ and explained her poor little guy – he’s like, thirty pounds – was already making it impossible to stand up straight for photos. It was the cutest rejection ever, honestly. I totally get it, though! She’s a supermom, and her baby comes first. I’m still obsessed!
Someone else commented that if the child weighed 30 pounds, they would have significant health problems. The cookbook author quickly responded, telling them, “Excuse me? Absolutely not.”

I was so happy to see my favorite podcast host share an update on Instagram just a week after she had her baby! It was lovely to get a message from her directly.
I’m so frustrated, I need to get this off my chest,” she wrote in December 2018. She’d originally planned to share a photo of her stomach as part of her journey back to health, but she’s glad she didn’t. She was shocked by the rude comments she received on a previous photo. She clarified that she hadn’t had a tummy tuck, doesn’t have a personal chef or unlimited resources for daily training, and is still recovering from a C-section (her third abdominal surgery, after having her appendix and gallbladder removed). In the previous photo, she was wearing a belly wrap and high-waisted pants, and she found herself having to defend her body. She wonders why women feel the need to compare themselves and then criticize each other. She wishes everyone could accept that all bodies are different – they heal at different rates, react differently, and simply look different. She asks why anyone would shame someone for not fitting a certain image, or feel bad about their own body. She hopes women can be kinder to themselves, recognize that every woman’s journey is unique, and lift each other up instead of tearing each other down. She sends her love and returns to focusing on her baby.

In April 2018, actress Candace Cameron Bure posted a photo of herself having dinner with her son, Lev Bure. Someone commented negatively, questioning why she still appeared heavier than her husband despite her fitness efforts and asking if she had changed her eating habits.
The actress quickly responded to the criticism. She wrote, “If a 25-inch waist seems large to you, it’s because you’re viewing it with unrealistic expectations. Take care.”
