The animated series Bluey has become incredibly popular on Disney+, with families around the world loving the adventures of the Blue Heeler puppy. While Bluey continues with new seasons and a movie in the works, one of its creators, Joe Brumm, is starting a new project. He’s developing an animated series for Hulu that’s geared towards adults and will be a departure from Bluey. Instead of featuring dogs, this new show will focus on the everyday lives of humans in a suburban setting.
According to Deadline, Brumm will executive produce a new animated series for Hulu called Deano. The show centers on a spirited and charming boy named Deano, who appears tough on the outside but has a kind heart. He’s described as an endearing and feisty kid growing up in a difficult neighborhood and a run-down home.
The story goes on to describe a character who doesn’t realize people are against him and treats everyone the same, whether they’re troubled teens or the police chief. A central part of the story is the friendship between this character, Deano, and Kit, his shy friend from a wealthy background. Kit doesn’t understand Deano’s struggles but is attracted to his positive attitude and bravery. Together, they navigate a harsh world that seems to be losing its compassion, but Deano remains remarkably optimistic and reminds everyone of the joy life can offer.

Bluey’s Future And Big 2025
Joe Brumm, the creator of the popular show Bluey, is expanding his work with a new project on Hulu. However, Bluey remains a huge success, and a fourth season is currently in production. Even bigger, the first Bluey movie is scheduled for release in theaters on August 6, 2027. Given the show’s incredible popularity, the movie is expected to be a major hit, and will be supported by a significant marketing push.
I was really struck by how well Bluey did in 2025. It wasn’t just a huge animated hit – it became one of the biggest entertainment franchises overall. The numbers were incredible; Bluey actually outperformed the final season of Stranger Things! Knowing how much anticipation there was for the end of Stranger Things and how many people watched it, that’s a pretty amazing accomplishment for any show, and Bluey managed to do just that – it reached number one.
