The movie you’re about to watch is a romantic comedy. Its story revolves around a man who works too much and takes comfort in his quick smoke breaks behind a nearby convenience store. There he becomes friends with one of the store employees, making for a heartwarming, calming, and at times uncomfortably familiar experience.
In this delightful and bittersweet comedy, a weary businessman named Sasaki and a peculiar cashier named Yamada, who has two personalities, form an unexpected friendship. At forty-five years old, Sasaki is fed up with the corporate world. The only thing that gives him comfort is smoking, and the friendly grin of the supermarket cashier, Yamada. One day after a particularly tough day at work, Sasaki can’t find Yamada. A charming woman invites him to smoke with her.
