In five days, on July 24th, a free RPG available on Steam will no longer be accessible. If you own a PC, you have until then to download it for free via Steam. For Steam Deck users considering adding the game to their library, please note that its compatibility with the device is currently unconfirmed. Valve’s labeling of “Unknown” means there’s no official information about the RPG’s Steam Deck compatibility, and since it’s being removed from Steam, this situation won’t improve.
The free-to-play PC game “Seraph: In the Darkness,” which was exclusively launched on Steam on March 6, has suddenly been taken down without any explanation from developers Seraph Studio or publishers Cherry Credits. It’s likely that the game is being discontinued due to financial losses, as it may be costing more than it’s earning. Additionally, its reviews haven’t been particularly favorable.
On Steam, the free Role-Playing Game (RPG) has a “Mixed” overall rating based on 739 user feedback, but it’s important to note that news about its closure may have influenced this score. Lately, reviews have been predominantly negative due to the game being shut down so soon after launch, causing disappointment for players who invested money into the RPG and are now left with nothing in return. This sudden closure isn’t too shocking when you consider the circumstances.
As a gamer, I’d like to express my gratitude for your unwavering excitement and backing throughout this Seraph season. As we near the finale, it’s important to share some news: the season is wrapping up, and in due course, our game servers will be temporarily shutting down.
Let me express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this season. Our team is dedicated to providing even more engaging and superior content moving forward.
Currently, there’s no information about refunds, offline play options, or future plans for the Intellectual Property (IP) or the studio that created it. The lack of such details might be concerning since this is their first project as both the developer and the publisher.
Currently, after the announcement of the shutdown, neither the developer nor the publisher has offered any additional comments. Should there be any new information, we’ll make sure to update our story.
