Amanda Seyfried teamed up with the plastics in a whole new way.
Let me tell you, working on film sets means you hear everything. Recently, I learned that the incredibly talented star of Testament of Ann Lee wore a prosthetic – yes, you read that right – during a nude scene for the upcoming Mona Fastvoid film. It just goes to show the lengths actors go to for their art, and the dedication to ensuring everything looks just right on screen! It’s a surprisingly common practice, though definitely not something you hear about every day.
Amanda explained on BBC Radio 2 on February 25th that the scene required a realistic and explicit approach, so she used a prosthetic for the role.
The 40-year-old actress, who plays the central character that people come to see as the leader of a religious group called The Shakers in the highly praised drama, also revealed she wore a pubic wig during a nude scene that happens near the end of the story.
Amanda felt “cool” and “exciting” while filming, thanks to the extra attention on her appearance.
She explained that a strange scene involved her appearing pregnant and nude, but it was an illusion. The film culminated with her character standing before a blazing building wearing only a pubic wig, which she found surprisingly liberating.
Although Amanda was comfortable with nudity in The Testament of Ann Lee, she hadn’t always felt that way about filming nude scenes.
She has openly said she now regrets posing nude for photoshoots when she was a young teenager.

In a 2022 interview with Porter, Amanda recalled a moment from when she was 19, saying, ‘I can’t believe I let myself walk around without underwear!’. She explained she didn’t want to cause trouble or risk losing her job, so she went along with it.
Despite any challenges, she doesn’t regret starting her career. She recently made a joke about wanting to be remembered for a line she delivered as Karen Smith in the 2004 film Mean Girls, even saying she hopes it will be quoted at her funeral.
She said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in March 2025 that the movie really resonated with people, even now. She explained that it brought people together, and that connection continues today, making her always happy to discuss it.

Jennifer Lawrence says her feelings about appearing nude on screen have changed over time. When she filmed her first nude scene for the 2018 movie Red Sparrow, she was quite uncomfortable.
Jennifer Lawrence admitted she was frightened by the film Red Sparrow because it required her to perform nude scenes. She initially attempted to film the movie without nudity, but ultimately felt it wasn’t authentic to the character’s journey unless she was willing to do the same.
However, when filming intimate scenes with Robert Pattinson for the 2025 film Die My Love, she was comfortable with nudity and didn’t hesitate to appear nude.
During a film screening, she explained that she wasn’t concerned with any nudity, emphasizing that she wanted director Lynne Ramsay to have complete creative control.

The actress, known for her role in Fantastic Four, remembered feeling very uneasy while filming a scene from the 2005 movie where her character, Sue Storm, was shown nude on a bridge.
“I thought that was awful,” Jessica shared in 2025. “It was very humiliating in real life.”
I come from a fairly conservative family and I’m generally a private person, so I was really worried about that scene for weeks. It left me feeling quite shaken up afterwards.

George Clooney, known for his roles in films like Ocean’s Eleven, shared that he decided to stop doing on-screen kisses after talking it over with his wife, Amal Clooney.
He explained that he decided to stop pursuing romantic relationships, taking inspiration from Paul Newman. As he told the Daily Mail in 2025, ‘When I turned 60, I talked to my wife and decided I was done with that part of life.’ He added that he still felt physically capable, saying, ‘I can still play basketball with much younger guys—men in their twenties.’
He said he’s still feeling strong and in good physical condition. However, he acknowledged that he’ll be 85 in 25 years, and no amount of healthy eating will change that fact – age is inevitable.

As a longtime fan, I’ve always admired how open Kate Winslet is. She’s never been afraid to talk about how awkward and bizarre filming intimate scenes can actually be, and I really appreciate that honesty.
Kate described the scenes as “really awkward” in a 2017 interview with TopMob News, adding that there was no way to view them positively.
After filming numerous scenes like this over the years, she felt quite comfortable playing a version of herself on set, confidently directing everyone with a simple, ‘Alright, here’s how we’ll do it.’

Despite its reputation for passionate romance, the actor says filming the intimate scenes in Bridgerton isn’t actually very sensual, largely because an intimacy coordinator was on set to help.
In a 2021 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Phoebe described filming the scene as feeling like a carefully choreographed stunt – it appeared authentic, but safety precautions were in place. She noted the camera angles were particularly impactful, adding that while she’d filmed intimate scenes before, the increased focus on safety and comfort felt like a significant shift in the industry. She expressed surprise at how recently these changes had become standard practice, saying it ‘changed the game.’
The Bridgerton actress explained that she and her co-star, Regé-Jean Page, felt very comfortable and secure after practicing their scenes. They were so well-prepared that once filming began, they knew exactly what to do, having meticulously planned every detail. This meant the director didn’t need to offer any last-minute adjustments or directions.

The Masters of Sex star had a similar approach when it came to sex scenes with co-star Lizzy Caplan.
Michael explained to The Wrap in 2015 that discussing sex scenes can be tricky and people often feel awkward about it. He said the team decided early on to be completely open and thorough, ensuring every scene was fully discussed and planned in advance to avoid any discomfort or misunderstanding.
He and his fellow actor created a detailed plan to discuss everything beforehand, ensuring they were fully prepared before filming began.
Michael explained that it’s crucial to clearly communicate the planned outfits and overall look to everyone involved beforehand. He emphasized discussing these details with the wardrobe, hair, and makeup teams to avoid any surprises on set. During filming, the set is completely closed off to ensure immediate coverage with clothing or accessories as soon as the director calls ‘Cut!’ No unauthorized personnel are allowed near the filming area.

Although the actor, known for his role in You, knew the show involved filming some explicit scenes, he asked the show’s creator, Sera Gamble, if they could reduce the number of those scenes he had to do.
Penn revealed on the Podcrushed podcast in 2023 that he’d made this decision even before starting the show. He admitted he’d never discussed it before, but a key question for him was whether he wanted to return to a career focused on playing romantic leads.
The choice was also linked to his marriage with Domino Kirke, and Penn emphasized the importance of faithfulness in any relationship, particularly within a marriage.
He explained that he reached a limit and didn’t want to continue. He told Sera he wanted to completely stop, going ‘from 100 to zero,’ as he put it.

The Academy Award nominee has always been uncomfortable with filming intimate scenes. In a 2017 interview with TopMob News, she admitted, “I really don’t enjoy them. I just want to get them done quickly.”
Kirsten, who is married to Jesse Plemons, has realized she often enjoys collaborating with female directors such as Sofia Coppola. This preference comes from past experiences with male directors who tended to over-shoot scenes, trying to capture them from numerous perspectives.
Oh my gosh, Kirsten told me Sofia’s all about efficiency! Apparently, Sofia just wants to get everything done super fast – like, ‘Let’s film it right here, three takes and we’re finished!’ It’s amazing how focused she is, honestly. I just love how she knows exactly what she wants!

Dakota Johnson, known for her role in Fifty Shades of Grey, has said she’s actually quite relaxed when filming intimate scenes, playfully adding that she doesn’t need to psych herself up for them.
Dakota recently discussed her approach to intimacy in acting during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast. She explained that her preparation always starts with considering the character and how the audience perceives them. “It really depends on who the character is,” she said.
She wondered if the woman was a glamorous celebrity, a stay-at-home mom, or perhaps feeling isolated, fearful, and traditional. She realized this meant there was a lot to unpack about the character’s personality and background.
Dakota’s mother, Melanie Griffith, instilled in her a strong sense of body positivity, teaching her to be proud and love her body.
She continued, saying she’s always been thankful for it, particularly because it helps her connect with her work and makes it feel authentic.
