Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Jujutsu Kaisen in 2026, especially with the intense Culling Game arc and exciting battles already circulating online. As characters like Yuji Itadori gain immense popularity, the series has a lot to offer. When Studio MAPPA released the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, some parts of the Shibuya Incident Arc were later improved. These improvements were made for both the Blu-ray release and the recent Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution movie. Notably, the fight between Sukuna and Mahoraga received updated animation. Jujutsu Kaisen: Past And Future

If you need a refresher on Jujutsu Kaisen season two, the events in Shibuya were incredibly chaotic. With Gojo Satoru trapped, villains took advantage of the situation, causing widespread destruction. During the conflict, Megumi desperately summoned a powerful, ancient weapon called Mahoraga. When the cursed spirit Sukuna joined the battle, enjoying the fight, many innocent people were caught in the crossfire, leaving Yuji to deal with the aftermath.

MAPPA has been working on several projects since finishing the Shibuya Incident Arc, not only within the world of Chainsaw Man. They’ve already released the first Chainsaw Man movie and returned to the Hell’s Paradise series. It’s currently unknown if MAPPA will alter the animation style for the Culling Game arc as they did with the Shibuya Incident, but it’s a definite possibility.

The story of Jujutsu Kaisen currently follows Yuji and his friends as they fight for survival in the Culling Game, a bizarre and dangerous tournament. Although the main manga series has finished, a continuation called Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is still being released. While it’s not certain yet, the animation studio MAPPA may eventually adapt this new storyline.
