Heated Rivalry season 2 gets major production update as release window revealed

I was completely hooked by ‘Heated Rivalry‘! It was a massive hit everywhere when it first came out late last year, and even though we in the UK had to wait a bit, everyone I’ve talked to – fans all over the world, really – is already begging for another season. It’s just that good!

There’s some mixed news: the show has been renewed for another season, which is great! However, fans will have to be patient, as it won’t be released for quite some time.

Jacob Tierney, the show’s creator, and Brendan Brady, an executive producer, recently discussed the progress of the new season during an interview on CBS Mornings, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to Tierney, the second season is currently being written, and filming is scheduled to begin in August. If everything stays on track, the show is expected to be back in 2027.

Tierney promised fans will see more intense matchups on television as quickly as they can make it happen.

Brady also encouraged fans to embrace the anticipation for season 2, saying they should “enjoy the yearning,” just like they enjoy the best parts of the show.

Earlier this year, François Arnaud, who stars in ‘Heated Rivalry,’ hinted that the show’s world might grow, with the possibility of a spin-off centered around his character, as suggested by a conversation with Tierney.

When asked about Scott’s future on Andy Cohen Live, he said they were considering many different possibilities and had been discussing them extensively.

I’m getting wind of a possible side project centered around the character Scott, though its details are still unclear. I understand that in the original books, Scott purchases a sports bar that Kip frequents.

Arnaud explained he doesn’t have any current obligations, but he’s definitely open to returning in the future.

This week, author Reid announced that their new novel, Unrivaled, will be released on June 1, 2027. The release has been delayed by almost a year due to health concerns.

Reid shared on Instagram that her Parkinson’s disease, diagnosed in 2023, is causing increased physical difficulty with writing. She explained her symptoms have recently worsened.

You know, as a reader, that’s all I really care about. She basically said she wants to make sure the book is the best it can be – for the story, for the characters, and ultimately, for us, the people who will be reading it. It’s great to hear her prioritize quality and the experience for the audience.
