I believe the ending of Resident Evil Requiem hints at the return of a key character, possibly through future downloadable content. While the game wraps up most of its main story questions, Capcom includes a final tease, suggesting where the series might go next. It’s unclear exactly what this means right now, but I suspect we might see a familiar, original protagonist reappear.
This article contains major spoilers for the entire movie Resident Evil: Requiem. Continue reading only if you’ve already seen it or don’t mind having the plot revealed.
Is Jill Valentine Being Teased to Return?

The story of Resident Evil Requiem concludes with Leon and Grace being rescued by Chris Redfield’s team, the Hound Wolf Squad. This small BSAA unit consists of masked soldiers wearing night vision goggles, and none of them are individually named. However, one of the soldiers bears a slight resemblance to Jill Valentine.
Looking at the character models for the Hound Wolf Squad in the extras of Resident Evil Requiem, it’s clear that one of the five members is female. The model has a distinctly feminine physique, and this character is the only one with visible hair. While it’s a small detail, it’s the only noticeable physical difference between the squad members, suggesting Capcom wants to highlight this character specifically.
You can see this in-game model for yourself here:

It’s possible, though speculative, that the unknown member of the Hound Wolf Squad is actually Jill Valentine. As Chris Redfield’s original partner in the Resident Evil games, it would fit that she’s working with him again on this team. The character also has blonde hair, a look Jill sported in Resident Evil 5, suggesting Capcom might be hinting at her return in a future game.
Here’s Why Jill Could Be in Requiem’s DLC

Looking at how Capcom has handled downloadable content in previous Resident Evil games, we can get an idea of how Jill might return in DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. For example, Resident Evil 7 showed Chris Redfield in a post-credits scene, hinting at his role in the Not a Hero DLC. Resident Evil Village did something similar, with a final scene featuring an older Rose Winters, who later became playable in the Shadows of Rose expansion.
The final cutscene in Resident Evil Requiem includes a quick mention of the Hound Wolf Squad. The scene takes place back at the Ark facility, where soldiers are eliminating BSAA agents who are searching for something unknown. One soldier urges the group to hurry, warning that the “wolves” will be sent after them if they don’t.

This scene probably introduces a conflict between the Hound Wolf Squad and a new enemy group. Based on past Resident Evil releases, this story will likely be explored in downloadable content, or DLC, rather than the main game. Players will probably control a member of the Hound Wolf Squad, and while Chris Redfield, the commander, is a possibility, it would be more interesting to play as one of the five squad members we already see in the game.
If this turns out to be true, revealing that Jill Valentine is a member of the Hound Wolf Squad would create a huge buzz for the Requiem DLC, especially if she’s the character players control. Resident Evil fans have been wanting Jill to return to the main series for years. Her last appearance was in the Resident Evil Revelations game, and even before that, in the Resident Evil 3 remake. However, Revelations takes place before Resident Evil 5, so we haven’t seen what Jill has been up to for almost 20 years within the game’s timeline.
I might be getting ahead of myself, but I think Capcom is hinting at Jill Valentine returning in future downloadable content for Resident Evil Requiem. Even if I’m wrong, I hope we see Jill back in the Resident Evil series soon.
