
Today, February 27th, is the 30th anniversary of Pokémon! Three decades ago, the original Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, were first launched in Japan. To celebrate, Pokémon held a special presentation revealing exciting new games and content planned for this year. As expected, they officially announced the next generation of Pokémon video games – Generation 10!
Pokemon Winds and Waves Confirmed for 2027
During today’s Pokemon Presents showcase, Game Freak announced the next generation of Pokemon games: Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves. As rumors predicted, the games take place on a tropical island that feels very much like Hawaii. You can check out the reveal trailer below to get a first look at what Generation 10 has in store!
The new game’s trailer focuses mostly on older Pokémon, keeping many details under wraps. However, it does give us a first glimpse of the game’s new region and the main characters for the tenth generation. The trailer also confirms the game won’t be released this year, with a planned launch in 2027. Surprisingly, it also reveals the starter Pokémon for the two versions, Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves.
