Who Dies in Scream 7? (It’s Tied With Two of the Sequels in Body Count)

With each new Scream movie, viewers anticipate the deaths of well-known characters – it’s become a hallmark of the series. Ever since the original film, fans have been conditioned to suspect anyone on screen could be both the killer and a victim. Scream 4 playfully acknowledged this by creating a layered opening sequence, satirizing the self-aware nature of modern horror and the established formula of the Scream films themselves.

Now that the newest Scream movie is in theaters, fans can expect a high body count, shocking twists, and some of the most brutal deaths the series has ever seen. Warning: Spoilers ahead! We can confirm that ten characters don’t survive the film. Here’s a list of who doesn’t make it out alive:

Everyone Who Dies in Scream 7 Revealed

The latest Scream movie, Scream 7, starts with a shocking and violent opening. We’re introduced to Scott (Jimmy Tatro) and Madison (Michelle Randolph) who are staying at a unique Airbnb-style location: the house used in the original and fifth Scream films. The house is decorated with details referencing the past murders, including body outlines and props from the fictional Stab movies. Scott is quickly killed by the new Ghostface with a knife to the head. Madison meets an even more gruesome fate, falling from an upper floor onto Ghostface’s knife and then being set on fire – a particularly ironic death given her earlier comment about a gruesome death in Scream 5.

The story moves to Pine Grove, where Sidney Prescott, now Sidney Evans, and her family are living. During a late-night school rehearsal, Ghostface attacks and kills Aaron (Cyle Winters) – though the actual killing happens off-screen, likely with a knife. Ghostface then targets Hannah (Mckenna Grace), suspending her and ultimately stabbing her, causing a gruesome injury on stage. Later that night, Ghostface breaks into Sidney’s home, attempting to kill her and her family, but is hit by a car driven by Gale Winters (Courtney Cox). The killer is revealed to be Karl Gibbs, a patient who escaped from a local mental institution.

Okay, so things immediately got intense! After the town went on curfew – just like the first Scream – Sidney’s daughter, Tatum, and her friends were trying to figure out who was behind the new killings at a local bar. But before they could even get close to solving it, Ghostface showed up and things went south fast. He grabbed Chloe and basically slammed her into everything, and sadly, she didn’t make it – a shard of glass was just… awful. Then, he impaled Lucas on a beer tap – seriously, beer actually started pouring out of his mouth! Luckily, Mindy and Chad showed up – remember them from the last two Scream movies? – and even though they were attacked, they both survived, which, honestly, felt pretty predictable at this point!

After this, a thrilling chase ensues, and while Tatum’s boyfriend, Ben (Sam Rechner), initially seems like a suspect, he’s quickly eliminated as a possibility when he’s brutally attacked and killed in front of her. Tatum’s own confrontation with Ghostface reveals there are actually two killers, who then kidnap her and bring her back to the house to force a showdown with Sidney. The two Ghostfaces are eventually unmasked, and their reasons for the killings are revealed, but the confrontation is deadly: Marco (Ethan Embry) is shot in the head, and Jessica (Anna Camp) is killed by a barrage of fifteen bullets.

Throughout Scream 7, a total of ten characters die, including the three Ghostface killers. This makes it equal with Scream 2 and Scream 3, which also each have ten deaths. Only Scream 4 (eleven deaths) and Scream VI (thirteen deaths) feature more deaths. The original Scream and the 2022 Scream films have the fewest deaths, with eight each.
