I was really enjoying the first season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the Game of Thrones prequel, so I was sad to see it end on March 22nd. It means we won’t be seeing Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) for a bit! Luckily, HBO shared a blooper reel to tide us over until the next season – you can check it out below!
This blooper reel is short – just under two minutes – but it’s full of funny moments. It features plenty of actors goofing off and smiling at the camera, with a few scenes really standing out. Fans who disliked Aerion Targaryen will likely enjoy seeing Dunk playfully “beat him up,” and Sam Spruell’s flubbed line as Maekar Targaryen was so natural, one viewer joked it wasn’t even a mistake! They commented that the moment felt perfectly in character for Maekar.
The show also includes a humorous moment where Shaun Thomas, playing Raymun Fossoway, appears to accidentally pass gas on camera, adding to the series’ playful focus on bodily functions. It’s also entertaining to watch Daniel Ings, as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, playfully stumble over the lyrics of a lively song while pretending to be intoxicated in front of onlookers.
‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Will Return Sooner Than You Might Expect

The show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a big success. Viewership increased throughout the season, and the finale had the highest numbers yet. Fans loved the episodes so much that they received very high ratings on IMDb, even sparking a debate with fans of Breaking Bad.
HBO is clearly having success with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Production on Season 2 is already underway, and executives are pleased they started early. While a release date hasn’t been announced, filming is progressing well, meaning fans will likely be able to watch the new season in 2027 – probably at the beginning of the year – and won’t have to wait much longer to see what happens with Dunk and Egg.
Traditionally, TV shows would typically have a one-year break between seasons. However, shows like Game of Thrones, known for its large-scale battles and impressive effects, have led to longer gaps becoming more frequent for popular series. House of the Dragon, the first prequel to Game of Thrones, follows this trend, with HBO releasing new seasons two years apart. Season 3 is scheduled to premiere this June.

The new show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is designed to speed up production compared to shows like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg, it’s a smaller story with fewer episodes and no dragons, allowing for a faster release schedule. Until Season 2, which will cover The Sworn Sword novella, is available, this behind-the-scenes blooper reel will have to satisfy fans.
