EastEnders’ Max Branning makes reckless move to show commitment to Linda Carter in early BBC iPlayer release

Max Branning is determined to win back Linda Carter in EastEnders, and he’s going to great lengths to do so.

They shared an unexpected kiss last month, but their connection quickly fell apart when she found out he hadn’t been truthful about her son Ollie being bullied. Max knew his grandson, Louie, was the one bullying Ollie, but he kept that information hidden.

They still have a connection, but she’s waiting to see if his recent actions show he’s ready for a real relationship.

It was a really rough day for Linda’s son, Johnny. As a fan of compelling dramas, I felt for the guy – his legal business lost its funding after another clash with that shady investor, Tim Walton. It’s just frustrating to watch someone get tripped up like that, you know?

As viewers may remember, Tim previously asked Callum Highway (Tony Clay), Johnny’s partner, to gather information on a rival to damage their reputation. Callum wouldn’t do it, so Tim decided to see how committed Callum was to their relationship by putting him in a difficult situation.

Callum thought his soon-to-be ex-husband, Ben Mitchell, had asked him to get a USB drive from a fancy house to try and avoid having his prison sentence extended. But when Callum arrived, he quickly realized it was a trap – the house was covered in security cameras and he was being set up.

Johnny soon realised that the only way they could evade Tim’s blackmail would be to sleep with him.

Linda was shocked and embarrassed to discover what her son had experienced, and she felt terrible realizing her angry reaction to Tim had actually made things worse. Determined to talk to him, she rushed to the law offices to find him.

Tim came to complete the final investment documents for Johnny, but it quickly became clear the deal wouldn’t go through.

The men finished negotiating their deal at The Vic pub, but Tim pulled out, explaining he’d changed his mind because of how Linda and Callum had been acting.

Johnny was heartbroken to see his business failing, and Max overheard what was happening. He then heard Tim calling for a cab and quickly ran outside to get in his own car.

Linda quickly figured out Max was falsely claiming to be the driver and told him to stop, but he drove away quickly.

What will Max do with Tim?
