Pink is raising a glass to the Big Apple.
Pop star Pink, her husband Carey Hart, and their children Willow, 14, and Jameson, 9, have officially moved to New York City, and they have a great reason for doing so.
Pink explained that her family relocated so her daughter, Willow, could pursue theater and have more opportunities to experience Broadway. She jokingly added that it was also because she considers herself a fantastic mom, sharing this on her recent guest hosting appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on March 2nd.
Pink, who used to live on a winery in Southern California, introduced her daughter to the world of performing during a recent TV appearance. They sang a cover of “Hopeless War” from the musical The Outsiders as part of the show’s karaoke segment, which was playfully renamed Cameo-oke for the occasion.
Pink’s move to New York conveniently placed her near the show’s set, allowing her to fill in as a guest host for a week in March while Kelly prepares to leave after seven seasons. She clarified, however, that this was only a short-term arrangement.
Pink recently addressed rumors online, clarifying in a now-deleted Instagram video that she is not taking over The Kelly Clarkson Show.
I’m helping out my friend Kelly with something enjoyable,” the 46-year-old explained. “If I were interested in hosting a talk show, I wouldn’t need to try out. I’d simply have one, and it would be fantastic. It’s not something I’m actively pursuing with everything else I have going on.”

Pink, who recently dismissed rumors of a breakup with Carey, had previously expressed her enthusiasm about taking on Kelly’s role.
She recently shared that while she’s performed in huge venues and even danced on skyscrapers, guest-hosting for Kelly Clarkson is a first for her! She’s excited to use the opportunity to celebrate women, happiness, strength, and everything life brings.

After 19 seasons, The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in 2022 following accusations of a negative and harmful workplace. These claims led to an internal investigation, the firing of several producers, and widespread public criticism.
Ellen made a comeback with her last standup comedy show, For Your Approval, which premiered on Netflix in September 2024. Before the show aired, she announced she was planning to retire from Hollywood.
During her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour, the comedian told the audience, according to SFGate, that she’s retiring after her upcoming Netflix special. She stated, “This is the last time you’re going to see me.”
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Ellen and Portia – my absolute heroes – they’ve moved to the Cotswolds! Can you even imagine?! Apparently, they decided to stay there permanently in November 2024, and it was all because of… ugh… Donald Trump getting reelected. I heard Ellen tell Richard Bacon herself! They were chatting at the Everyman theater in Cheltenham back in July 2025, and she spilled all the details! It’s just… everything makes so much sense now!
She raved about the English countryside, telling the BBC it was ‘absolutely beautiful’ and unlike anything she was used to. She especially loved the charming villages, towns, and architecture, noting it offered a more relaxed and simple way of life.
“It’s just a nicer place,” Ellen explained. “The animals are well cared for, and everyone is so friendly. We really love living here. We moved in November, which wasn’t the best timing, but I finally got to see snow! Portia brought her horses with her, I have chickens, and we even had sheep for a couple of weeks.”

Tyra Banks, the host of America’s Next Top Model, decided to move to Australia partly to focus on her ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream. She explained on Today with Jenna & Friends that her business had been primarily supplying ice cream to places like airplanes and cruise ships, and she’d been traveling to Australia frequently to oversee production at a large facility there. She really enjoyed her time in Australia and recognized it as a strong market for her product. According to Tyra, the countries that consume the most ice cream are America, New Zealand, and Australia. She ultimately moved to Australia with her son, York (whose father is Erik Asla), and her boyfriend, Louis Bélanger-Martin, saying that Australia has been a wonderful experience for her and her family.

Eva Longoria, known for her role on Desperate Housewives, has moved from Los Angeles and now splits her time between Mexico and Spain with her husband, José Bastón, and their son, Santiago. She explained to Marie Claire that while she lived in Los Angeles for most of her adult life, the city had changed, and the pandemic accelerated that change. Issues like homelessness and taxes also contributed to her decision to start a new chapter.
Longoria clarified to The View: Behind the Table that her move wasn’t politically motivated, despite speculation following the presidential election. Instead, it stemmed from work opportunities – six months filming in Catalonia, four months in Mexico, and then a continued presence in Spain. She feels fortunate to be able to leave the U.S. when many others can’t and expresses concern for those who remain. Despite the move, Longoria remains active in her career, recently appearing in Only Murders in the Building and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.

Actor Richard Gere has relocated from Chicago to Spain with his family. He explained on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that his wife, Alejandra Silva, who is from Galicia, encouraged the move, and they plan to live in Madrid for several years. Gere is enthusiastic about how this will benefit their young sons, Alexander and James, who are already bilingual and will thrive in the Spanish language environment. He also has an adult son, Homer, with his ex-wife, Carey Lowell. The family seems to be adjusting well, with Gere telling Elle España in January 2025 that they are happier than ever and fully embracing this new chapter in their lives.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always thrilled to hear about families finding their rhythm, and Christina Milian has really done that! She and her husband, singer Matt Pokora, recently made Paris their permanent home after years of splitting their time between the US and France. It was a big decision, but she felt it was the perfect opportunity for their kids – Violet, Isaiah, and Kenna – to be educated in France. And honestly, it sounds idyllic! She shared that her children are thriving, fully embracing the language and culture. For her, it’s all about balance – enjoying an active daytime lifestyle and then working ahead of schedule to stay on top of her career. It’s wonderful to see a family finding such a happy and healthy groove in a new city. It truly seems magnifique!

Lindsay Lohan is frustrated by the ongoing speculation surrounding her departure from Los Angeles. Looking back at her busy career and social life in the early 2000s, she recently explained her decision to step away from the public eye. In an interview with Bustle in March 2024, Lohan expressed annoyance that her work was often overshadowed by paparazzi and tabloid attention. She wished the focus had remained on her career and felt the constant media scrutiny created a narrative that spiraled out of control, prompting her desire to disappear. While she moved to London and then Dubai, and even opened beach clubs in Greece, Lohan also sought a more private life away from the spotlight.
I remember Lindsay Lohan once sharing how she worried she might never find love, wondering if it was even possible for her. She realized she needed to focus on herself, and once she did, amazing opportunities – and the right kind of relationships – started coming her way. It’s so lovely to see that she did find her person, Bader Shammas! They got married in 2022 and welcomed their son, Luai, last year. Even though they’re based in Dubai now, she hasn’t left acting completely, which is great! She’s still making movies like Our Little Secret, Irish Wish, and even a sequel, Freakier Friday. It’s wonderful to see her thriving both personally and professionally.

Josh decided to leave Hollywood after some careful thought. He explained to People magazine in July 2024 that Hollywood isn’t just a location, but a way of life. Being surrounded by people constantly focused on the film industry, he felt, would limit his perspective. He wanted a more diverse life.
“I’ve always wanted to be around people who are doing all sorts of different things, things that would take my mind off work and help me grow in new ways,” Josh said. “That’s what makes life interesting to me.”
So, Josh, his wife Tamsin Egerton, and their four children moved to the countryside in Hampshire, England. He told The Guardian in July 2024 that time flies when you have a family. He found that while life might seem simpler, it was actually filled with more of what truly mattered.
Despite the move, Josh has remained active in his career, appearing in films like Verity, Fight or Flight, and Trap.

If you don’t follow Jesse on social media, you might be surprised to learn he no longer lives in Los Angeles. In a February 2025 interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, the A Real Pain star revealed he’s lived in Indiana for the past ten years, finding it a more comfortable and stable environment. Despite being an Oscar nominee, Jesse lives a fairly ordinary life with his wife, Anna Strout, and son, Banner. He explained that he avoids social media and doesn’t spend much time networking within the industry. With a teacher for a wife and a son who isn’t particularly interested in movies, Jesse feels removed from the constant pressures of assessing his status in Hollywood.

Eliza Dushku, known for her roles in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the movie Bring It On, announced in September 2024 that she’s now a certified psychedelic-assisted therapist and is continuing her education in the field of mental health.
She explained to Boston Magazine that she was able to change her life’s path to prioritize her own well-being, with the goal of then helping others. She felt it was important to share the positive changes she’d experienced – the peace and renewed energy she’d found – because she now clearly understood her true calling and purpose.

The actress best known for playing Wilma Flintstone shared that she relocated to Ireland in January 2025 with her son, Clay, and is working to become an Irish citizen because of her family’s heritage. While she mentioned current political events as a factor in her decision to move, she hasn’t dismissed the possibility of returning to her home country in the future.
In a TikTok video, she shared that she misses her children, her friends, and many aspects of her life back home. She’s currently working on building a new life in her current country, and she and her family will consider returning to America when it’s safe and everyone there has equal rights.

Actress Evangeline Lilly, known for her role in Ant-Man and the Wasp, has announced she’s stepping away from acting for an indefinite period after two decades in the film industry.
In a June 2024 Instagram post, Evangeline shared how happy and at peace she feels while pursuing her dreams. She expressed gratitude for her good fortune, explaining that while choosing a path less traveled – one that doesn’t prioritize money and fame – can be daunting, living authentically and following her true calling brings a deep sense of purpose and satisfaction.
However, she’s not ruling out a return to Hollywood completely, saying, “I could see myself going back someday, but right now, I’m happy where I am.”

I’ve been a huge fan of Paul Wesley for years, ever since The Vampire Diaries. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him in a new acting role – the last one was V-Wars on Netflix back in 2019. But honestly, I’m so impressed with what he’s been doing since then! He’s really dedicated himself to fighting climate change, and he’s focusing on something incredibly important: improving the health of our soil. It’s amazing to see him using his platform for such a worthy cause.
Ian Somerhalder took a break from acting a little over four years ago to focus on his family, develop his businesses, and get his films released. He told TopMob News in November 2023 that this included launching the 2020 documentary Kiss the Ground and its sequel, Common Ground, both of which highlight the importance of regenerative farming. He shares two children with his wife, Nikki Reed.
Looking ahead, the actor said he envisions himself as a rancher focused on building lasting brands – like his bourbon and wellness company. He’s deeply committed to sustainable farming and healthy soil, principles he and his family practice. He explained this is his life’s direction, and that’s why these things matter so much to him – it’s about who he is and who he’s becoming.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was listening to Jennette McCurdy’s podcast, Empty Inside – seriously, you HAVE to listen – and she revealed something so amazing! She told Anna Faris that she actually stopped acting a few years ago! Can you believe it?! She’s not giving up on being creative though, thankfully! She’s totally diving into writing and directing now, which I think is incredible, and of course, she’s still doing the podcast, which is how I discovered her genius in the first place!
Jennette recently shared that she feels deeply ashamed of some of her past acting roles, detailing these feelings in her 2022 memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. She admitted to resenting her career and feeling unfulfilled by the parts she played, describing them as cheesy and embarrassing. Having worked on those shows from age 13 to 21, she was already embarrassed by her work as early as age 15, feeling it wasn’t something her friends were impressed by.
You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about the possibility of returning to acting, and I’m starting to feel like it might be possible. For years, I carried a lot of baggage with me from past experiences, but working on my book has really helped me process those feelings. I’m realizing now that if I were to write something specifically for myself – a role that truly resonated with who I am now – that could be the only way I’d even consider stepping back in front of the camera. It’s about creating something new, free from the pressures and expectations of the past.

It seemed like a pretty easy decision. The chance to marry Prince Harry, focus on the charities we care about, and wear the Queen’s tiaras would make leaving Hollywood completely worthwhile.
As a longtime admirer, I’ve always been fascinated by the parallels between Meghan and Grace Kelly – both actresses who found themselves trading Hollywood for royal life. Like Grace, Meghan left her life in Toronto and the show that made her famous, Suits, to join the Royal Family. But now, after stepping back from their senior roles, she’s starting to build a new career, and I’m thrilled to see it! They’ve got this great deal with Netflix, and she’s already released the docuseries Harry & Meghan. She’s even got a lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, coming out in 2025! Beyond that, she’s launched a podcast and her own brand, As Ever, which is fantastic. It’s wonderful to see her thriving and pursuing her passions again.

Okay, so can you BELIEVE she’d made over 40 movies since The Mask back in ’94? Seriously, 40! When she finished filming Annie in 2014, everyone said she needed a break. And honestly? She SO deserved it. I was worried sick she’d burn out, she works so hard!
She told Gwyneth Paltrow that she realized she wanted a different lifestyle. After years of intense work and filmmaking, she felt burnt out. She explained that making a movie is incredibly demanding – you’re committed for long hours every day for months, leaving no room for anything else in your life.
Cameron Diaz had many interests she wanted to pursue, including writing – she’d already had success with her books The Body Book (2013) and The Longevity Book (2016) – and starting a family with her husband, Benji Madden. Although she told InStyle in 2019 that she didn’t miss acting and was focused on wellness, it seemed she might be open to returning for at least one more project.
Jamie Foxx explained to TopMob News how they convinced Cameron Diaz to star in the 2025 Netflix movie Back in Action. He said they practically pleaded with her, saying, ‘Please do one more!’ He added that everyone loves her and has been eagerly awaiting her return, and the film is going to be amazing.

The actor stated firmly that he wouldn’t return to the show after completing his five years on Empire. When Extra asked Terrence Howard about his plans before the sixth and final season aired in 2019, he said, “I’m finished with acting. I’m done with pretending.”
Despite briefly returning for a few projects, the Academy Award nominee announced his retirement from acting again in 2022 while promoting his Peacock series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters. He explained to Entertainment Tonight that he felt he’d given his all as an actor and was now happy to see new talent emerge, not wanting to simply repeat performances he’d already done.
Even with those past issues, Howard has continued to act, appearing in shows like Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist and the Netflix movie Shirley. He also has several new projects planned.

After his character, King Joffrey, died on the show in 2014, Jack Gleeson, who was 21 at the time, decided to stop acting. He told EW that he’d been acting since he was eight years old and simply wasn’t enjoying it anymore.
Jack, no longer the child star he once was, felt some of the excitement had faded. He explained that turning a hobby into a job changes things. “Before, it was just something fun to do with friends, or a summer pastime,” he said. “I still like it, but making a living from it shifts your perspective. It’s not that I dislike it, it’s just not what I want to do as a career.”
After taking six years off, Jack returned to acting in 2020 with a role in the BBC series Out of Her Mind. Since then, he’s also been in films such as Rebecca’s Boyfriend and In the Land of Saints and Sinners, and TV shows including Safe Harbor and The Famous Five.

When Jennifer Aniston, known for her role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, participated in the virtual table read in September 2020, she was already a seasoned actress – having married fellow actor Kevin Kline in 1989. They devised a plan to raise their children, Owen and Greta (who now performs as the singer Frankie Cosmos), by taking turns with work so they would never both be away at the same time, as Kline shared with Playboy magazine.
He added that Phoebe has consistently prioritized staying home with her children whenever she was scheduled to work. While she briefly appeared in her friend Jennifer Jason Leigh’s 2001 independent film, The Anniversary Party, Cates mainly focuses on running her New York City store, Blue Tree.

I’ll never forget when Rick Moranis seemed to just disappear! He was at the top of his game with Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, but after tragically losing his wife to breast cancer in 1991, he made the incredibly selfless decision to step away from movies and dedicate himself to raising his children, Rachel and Mitchell. It was a tough time, and I always admired him for prioritizing his family.
Despite not appearing in a live-action film since 1997 – he even turned down a small role in the 2016 Ghostbusters remake – Rick remains a beloved figure, as shown by the strong reaction to news of an assault he experienced while walking in New York City in 2020. Fortunately, fans will be happy to hear he’s returning to the screen alongside Josh Gad in the upcoming Disney reboot, Shrunk.

After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, actress Drew Barrymore suggested she was considering stepping back from acting. She told Vogue that most acting roles require intimate scenes, and she wasn’t comfortable with that. While she believed her relationship was solid, she felt that taking on such roles needed to be worth the potential discomfort – there had to be a truly exceptional reason to do so.
After her son, Martin, joined his older sister, Louisanna, in 2014, she firmly decided to step away from acting. She told Us Weekly in 2016 that she felt like an outsider in the movie industry and was now focused on being a mom. She also helps her husband, Kimmel, with his work and enjoys painting, adding, “I think that’s mainly why I stopped [acting].”

She’d starred in popular shows like Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. After those roles, the Australian actress began to feel like it was time for a change.
Turning 45, I started thinking about trying something completely new and challenging,” she shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018. “I had a good idea of what my acting career would look like for the next decade or two, so I decided to leave acting and start my own business instead.”
Her company, General Public, which creates art for everyone, was almost complete – she just needed to finish one last piece.
I spoke with Mitch Hurwitz, the creator of Arrested Development, and told him I wouldn’t participate in a fifth season because I had decided to stop acting. He was very understanding and supportive, and we had a good talk. Surprisingly, he ended up writing my character into five episodes.

It’s understandable why, after winning three Oscars, an actor might consider retiring. Following his sixth Academy Award nomination for the 2017 film Phantom Thread, the actor announced through his representative that he was retiring from acting. The statement expressed his gratitude to colleagues and fans over the years and clarified that this was a personal decision, with no further comments to be made.
Just as Daniel Day-Lewis had announced his retirement from acting, a new project drew him back in. In October 2024, Focus Features revealed he would star in Anemone, a film he co-wrote with his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also be directing.

After finding fame on Good Luck Charlie, she decided to focus on her education in 2018. She went on to earn both a master’s degree and a PhD from MIT, and later attended Harvard Law School.
On top of everything else, Bridgit founded Northwood Space, a company focused on building ground stations for sending and receiving data from satellites. She became the CEO of Northwood Space in February 2023.
