Daniel Radcliffesolemnly swears he’s up to some good.
More than ten years after sharing his path to sobriety, the former Harry Potter star says he now focuses on regular exercise instead of drinking.
Daniel recently told WSJ. Magazine that despite not fitting the typical image of a fitness enthusiast, he’s actually very dedicated to working out. He described his intense gym habit as a way of channeling a past tendency towards addiction, joking that it’s a common pattern for people who’ve overcome addictive behaviors.
The 36-year-old also shared that taking care of his health isn’t just about exercise like lifting weights, doing circuits, and cardio.
He explained that he used to fuel his days with coffee and cigarettes, but after quitting smoking, he now relies solely on coffee to keep him going.
The actor from Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins shared a glimpse into his everyday life with his girlfriend, Erin Darke, and their two-year-old son.
He explained that having a young child means he’s naturally awake early, around 5:30 AM. His son uses a night-light that changes color, and every day at 6:30, when it turns from blue to yellow, his son calls out for him.
Although it seems Daniel has adjusted well to fame after becoming a star at a young age, he understands that every child star’s journey is different.

I, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and the other Harry Potter actors are often held up as examples of child stars who turned out okay. And while that’s true, we all put in a lot of effort to make sure we were alright.
Daniel also acknowledged how challenging it can be. He explained that growing up on the set of Harry Potter in the U.K. was a unique experience, because many of the same crew members worked on the films for ten years and became a supportive family to the young actors.
Plus, he noted, “I was also really lucky with my parents.”
In addition to Daniel, read on to see what the cast of the Harry Potter franchise is up to today.

Daniel Radcliffe will always be thankful for the role of Harry Potter, which launched his career. However, he’s actively worked to move beyond his child-star image, starting with his daring Broadway debut in the play Equus in 2007.
He followed that with the more upbeat How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in 2011. Since then, he’s balanced stage work—including The Cripple of Inishmaan, Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead, and his Tony-winning performance in Merrily We Roll Along—with film roles like The Woman in Black, Victor Frankenstein, and Swiss Army Man.
Radcliffe often chooses roles with a darker edge, like a morphine-addicted doctor in the TV series A Young Doctor’s Notebook or a minor angel trying to save the world in Miracle Workers.
He’s also demonstrated versatility, playing the villain in the 2022 romantic comedy The Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, portraying musician “Weird Al” Yankovic in the biographical parody Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and providing voice work for the animated series Mulligan.
Radcliffe has been with actress Erin Darke since they met on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2013, where he played poet Alan Ginsberg. They have a son, born in April 2023.

Emma Watson, who grew up in both Paris and England, landed the role of Hermione Granger with little acting experience beyond school plays. After finishing the Harry Potter films, she balanced studying English literature at Brown University (where she graduated in 2014) with roles in independent movies like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring.
She later starred as Belle in the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast and as Meg March in the 2019 film Little Women, but then decided to take a break from acting. While initially daunting, she felt it was the right decision.
In a 2023 interview with British Vogue, Watson explained that stepping away allowed her to find her own voice and creative independence. She valued the freedom to explore without a clear path, saying she wouldn’t trade the clarity she gained for anything.
Since then, she’s returned to school for a creative writing program at Oxford, launched her gin brand Renais with her brother Alex Watson, and directed several commercials. Throughout her career, Watson has also worked as a model for brands like Burberry and Lancôme and dedicated herself to activism, particularly focusing on gender equality.

Rupert Grint seemed born to play Ron Weasley, Harry Potter’s best friend. After the series ended, he appeared in several British productions, including the Agatha Christie mystery The ABC Murders and the dark comedy Sick Note, where he played a man who pretends to have cancer. He also took on roles in the film CBGB, about the famous New York punk club, the French comedy Moonwalkers, and projects by M. Night Shyamalan, including the series Servant and the movie Knock at the Cabin.
However, Grint admitted it took time to adjust to life after playing Ron for so many years. In a 2018 interview with Radio Times, he said he felt like he’d missed out on normal experiences and had lost touch with school friends. He took a break to regain a sense of normalcy, admitting he wasn’t overly ambitious and felt a need to prove himself while also struggling with insecurity.
Outside of acting, Grint and his longtime partner, Georgia Groome, welcomed their daughter, Wednesday G. Grint, in May 2020. They expanded their family in 2025 with the arrival of their second daughter, Goldie G. Grint.

Matthew Lewis, the actor who famously played Neville Longbottom, has become incredibly popular online after people noticed how much he’s changed and how good he looks now. News of his transformation has quickly spread around the world.
British actor Lewis has built a career primarily in England, appearing in television series like The Syndicate and Bluestone 42 (where he played a soldier and particularly enjoyed his time), as well as films such as Me Before You and Terminal, alongside Margot Robbie. He’s also been in Avoidance, All Creatures Great & Small, Baby Done, and Ripper Street. He has stated that his experience on Bluestone 42 was his most enjoyable and fulfilling as an actor. Lewis is a private person, but it’s known he married Angela Jones in 2018. The couple visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in October 2019, a special place for them as it’s where they first met.

Despite playing the villainous Draco Malfoy, the actor Tom Felton is actually known for being kind and generous. In 2011, he appeared in several films, including Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Belle, and A United Kingdom.
Tom Felton has appeared in a variety of projects, including a 2016 role on The CW’s The Flash, the sci-fi drama Origin, and films like Ophelia, Braking for Whales, Burial, and Some Other Woman. He revisited the world of Harry Potter in 2025, reprising his role as Draco Malfoy on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. In addition to acting, Felton is also a singer-songwriter and has released several EPs throughout his career.
The actor was in a seven-year relationship with Jade Olivia Gordon, who later played his character’s wife, Astoria Malfoy, in the Harry Potter films, before they separated in 2016. He is now in a relationship with Roxanne Danya.
In his 2022 memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard, Felton discussed his difficulties with early fame and his history with substance abuse, and clarified the nature of his relationship with Emma Watson.
He admitted he’d always felt a strong connection with Emma, though not necessarily a romantic one. While they’ve shared moments of attraction, it wasn’t consistent. Ultimately, a romantic relationship never developed, but they still care deeply for each other as friends. ‘I wasn’t in love with Emma,’ he clarified, ‘but I truly loved and admired her as a person, in a way I can’t quite describe.’

I’ve been a fan of Bonnie Wright since she first appeared as Ginny Weasley – it was incredible watching her grow up on screen, going from just ‘Ron’s little sister’ to becoming such a vital part of Harry’s world! It’s been amazing to follow her career beyond Hogwarts, too. After graduating from the London College of Communication, she bravely started her own production company, BonBonLumière, back in 2012. She continued acting in films like After the Dark and Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?, but she really showed her creative side by writing and directing her own shorts. It was such a treat seeing familiar faces like David Thewlis (Remus Lupin!), Christian Coulson (Tom Riddle!), and Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy!) in her films Separate We Come, Separate We Go, Know Thyself, and Medusa’s Ankles. While she hasn’t appeared in many films recently – her last was A Christmas Carol in 2018 – she’s clearly passionate about other things. In 2021, she released Go Gently, a really inspiring book offering practical advice on getting involved in the climate movement. It’s so cool to see her using her platform for good!
In 2019, Bonnie Wright reunited with several of her former Harry Potter co-stars, including Evanna Lynch, and someone captured the moment in a photo. Wright shared the picture with the caption “Time turning,” adding a lightning bolt emoji.
Wright was previously engaged to Jamie Campbell Bower, who played a young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Death Hallows – Part 1, but they ended their engagement in 2012. She then dated Simon Hammerstein for several years before starting a relationship with Andrew Lococo in 2020. They married in March 2022 and welcomed their son, Elio, in September 2023.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Fred and George Weasley, and it’s amazing to me that the actors who played them, Oliver and James Phelps, are actually twins themselves – Oliver is even thirteen minutes older! They’ve continued to play twin roles in other projects like Our Own Worst Enemy and Last Night in Soho, and James has also built up a fantastic solo career with films like Patchwork and Cadia: The World Within. Beyond acting, they’re incredibly talented multi-hyphenates! They even hosted a podcast called Normal Not Normal and a fun cooking competition, Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. It’s lovely to see their personal lives flourishing too – Oliver married Katie Humpage in 2015 and they have two daughters, while James married Annika Ostle the following year. They’re just a genuinely wonderful pair!

The British actor began his career playing Dean Thomas, a student at Hogwarts, and then built a strong resume with stage work in England and appearances in popular TV shows like Broadchurch and Sherlock. He became well-known for his four-season role on How to Get Away With Murder, where he played Wes, a law student with good intentions who faced a tragic fate. Interestingly, he returned for a brief appearance in the final season as – spoiler alert – Wes’s son. More recently, he’s been in Foundation, The Couple Next Door, and Miss Austen. He’s also an Oxford graduate, having attended The Queen’s College.

When Chris Columbus was casting the role of young Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, he was hoping to find someone between 15 and 17 years old. However, Christian Coulson, who was 23 at the time, ultimately won the part. He continued to act in various films and television shows, including roles as Damien George in Nashville, Sebastian in the Golden Globe-winning series Mozart in the Jungle, Benjamin in High Fidelity, and Peter in Blood Brothers: Civil War.

Katie Leung won the role of Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire after competing against around 3,000 other actors. However, she later shared that she received a lot of hateful online comments after the casting announcement. In a 2021 podcast interview, Leung described finding a website dedicated to criticizing her casting, complete with a running tally of people who disagreed with the decision. She called the experience ‘awful.’
Following Harry Potter, Leung continued acting in theater, television, and voice work. She appeared in productions like White Dragon, Chimerica, and The Nest, and voiced the character Caitlyn in the animated series Arcane. Her other credits include Nightsleeper, Annika, Chemistry of Death, The Peripheral, and The Foreigner. Most recently, she joined the cast of Bridgerton for its fourth season.
In December 2022, Leung announced on Instagram that she and her partner welcomed their first child, a son named Wolf.

Whatever happened to the actor who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? It’s been a while since we’ve heard from him.
Robert Pattinson also starred as the main character in the popular young adult series The Twilight Saga. He played the intense vampire Edward Cullen in five movies and famously dated his co-star, Kristen Stewart, during filming.
He’s become known for his intense performances in independent films like Maps to the Stars, Cosmopolis, The Rover, Good Time, and The Lighthouse. However, he also returned to large-scale action movies in 2022, taking on the role of Batman in The Batman.
Robert Pattinson was previously engaged to FKA twigs. Since 2018, he has been in a relationship with model and actress Suki Waterhouse, and they got engaged in December 2023. They recently welcomed their first child in March 2024.

I’ve always been captivated by Fleur Delacour, the stunning representative from Beauxbatons in the Triwizard Tournament. It was so lovely to learn she eventually married Ron Weasley’s brother, Bill! But her talent doesn’t stop at magical beauty; Poésy, the actress who played Fleur, has had an incredible career. I’ve enjoyed seeing her in so many things – from popular shows like Gossip Girl to critically acclaimed films like In Bruges. She’s even starred in both English and French productions like The Tunnel and Genius: Picasso! More recently, I watched her in Tenant (alongside Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory!), The Essex Serpent, and even The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. It’s been wonderful to follow her journey, and I remember reading an interview where she beautifully described how becoming a mother in 2017 changed her life. She’s truly a talented and inspiring actress.
She recently told The Guardian that experiencing pregnancy and motherhood has given her a deeper connection to women throughout history. She explained that going through the physical and emotional aspects of becoming a mother has significantly increased her respect and admiration for women.

Evanna Lynch became known for her memorable portrayal of Luna Lovegood, beginning with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. However, she later revealed that she surprisingly found it difficult to land acting roles after the hugely popular film series ended.
In a 2019 interview with Bustle, Lynch explained it felt strange receiving so much fan mail and attention when her everyday life didn’t reflect that level of recognition. She admitted it was difficult and that she initially missed the positive feedback she’d gotten from being part of a large film franchise, where her work was always praised. Despite this, she’s continued to act in short films like Bus Girl and animated projects such as My Freaky Family.
Evanna Lynch has been vegan since 2015 and is passionate about cruelty-free products. In 2018, she launched Kinder Beauty Box, a beauty line focused on clean and ethical ingredients, and began co-hosting the podcast Just Beings with Dr. Melanie Joy. That same year, she was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, finishing in third place. In 2021, she published her first book, The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting.
Evanna Lynch shared with Bustle that she’s stayed particularly close with Katie Leung and Scarlett Byrne (who played Pansy Parkington) and often sees her former Harry Potter co-stars at fan conventions. She explained that many of them have become closer as they’ve gotten older. “We’re adults now, so the age gaps that felt significant when we were younger don’t seem as big anymore,” she said. For example, she recently spent time with James and Oliver Phelps, the actors who played the Weasley twins, noting that she didn’t interact with them much during filming because of the age difference when they were teenagers.

Since his time playing Draco’s sidekick Goyle in the Harry Potter films, Josh Herdman has continued to build a successful acting career. He’s appeared in several popular television shows and movies, including the British crime drama Marcella alongside Anna Friel, the 2018 Robin Hood film, the crime miniseries Murder at White House Farm, and the spy series Alex Rider. More recently, he’s had roles in the Disney+ series Andor and the movie No Way Home.
Beyond acting, Herdman has also pursued a career in mixed martial arts, beginning his MMA journey in 2016.
In 2023, he announced his marriage to Jessica Herdman, and the couple now have two children together.

Like many of the actors who played bullies in the Harry Potter films, Harry Melling is a genuinely kind person. During the middle of the series, he got in such good shape that the filmmakers almost replaced him! However, he continued to play Dudley Dursley, Harry’s spoiled cousin, by wearing prosthetics to maintain his appearance.
Since then, Melling has steadily worked in both theater and film, appearing in projects like The Lost City of Z, the Coen brothers’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and the HBO series His Dark Materials.
He also collaborated with director Joel Coen again for his version of The Tragedy of Macbeth, starring alongside Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand. More recently, Melling played Harry Beltik in the popular Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit and appeared with Charlize Theron in the action film The Old Guard for the streaming service.
Other notable roles include appearances in Wolf Hall, Harvest, Shoshana, The Pale Blue Eye, and Pillion.
