We all know Royal Mail are the champions of memorabilia, especially when it comes to musical icons.
A new coin celebrating the Spice Girls has been launched by a British coin company. It’s part of their Music Legends collection, which already includes coins honoring music icons like Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Freddie Mercury.
As a huge Spice Girls fan, I’m so excited! They’re the first girl group ever to be featured on an official UK coin! It’s to celebrate their 30th anniversary, and the coolest part is there are five different coin designs – one for each Spice Girl: Baby, Ginger, Posh, Scary, and Sporty. I need to collect them all!
The coins are vibrantly coloured and feature outlines of the singer, along with their signature.
According to Lucy Mackenzie, who leads digital and product development at The Royal Mint, the Spice Girls weren’t simply a popular music group – they truly captured the spirit of the 1990s.
As a huge Spice Girl fan, I’m so excited that we can finally own a piece of their history! These coins are extra special because each one has unique packaging celebrating a different Spice Girl, making them a really cool collectible. It truly feels like Girl Power is back! I have a feeling these are going to be super popular – I know lots of devoted fans and collectors, like me, are going to want to add these to our collections, whether we collect coins or other Spice Girls merch!
The Spice Girls expressed their excitement and honor at being celebrated by The Royal Mint, joining a lineup of music legends. They noted that 2026 will be their 30th anniversary year since releasing their first single and album, and they’re thrilled to be the first female group to have their own commemorative coin – a true moment for Girl Power!
As usual, the coin comes in both colour and monotone and on a range of coin sizes and proofs.
