For years, Marvel Comics subtly suggested that a famous superhero was involved in the death of President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy’s assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald was a shocking event that sparked many conspiracy theories. While movies and TV shows explored these theories, Marvel took it a step further by directly implicating one of its most popular heroes in the tragedy.
Marvel Comics Seriously Hinted Wolverine Killed JFK

In Wolverine: Origins #6, written by Daniel Way and illustrated by Steve Dillon, Logan is experiencing the effects of carbonadium and remembers the first time he felt similar sensations. The story flashes back to when Wolverine was part of the Weapon X program, held captive in Dallas, Texas in 1963. He’s just completed a significant mission and wants to rejoin his team, but Weapon X intends to eliminate him to cover up their activities.
The details are unclear, but it’s pretty obvious what happened. This memory takes place soon after President Kennedy’s assassination. Instead of simply releasing Logan, Weapon X decided to eliminate him, hoping to cover their tracks. This isn’t shocking, considering Weapon X’s past behavior – they’ve consistently done terrible things to achieve their objectives. Killing someone like JFK wouldn’t be out of character for them, especially given Wolverine’s history of taking out important figures. It wouldn’t be surprising at all if he was involved in the assassination.
Ultimately, those who were controlling Logan – people like Romulus – are to blame. However, it’s surprising that Marvel would connect Wolverine, a major hero, to such a famous assassination as JFK’s. Considering Wolverine’s long and troubled past, it’s not entirely shocking, though, and it does raise the question of what other historical events he might have influenced. Killing Kennedy is just the tip of the iceberg – what else has Wolverine done to alter history?
