Kylo Ren’s Greatest Force Feat Wasn’t Even in the Movies

The Star Wars sequel trilogy is still a very divisive part of the series. While The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker were often criticized for relying too much on familiar elements from the original movies, The Last Jedi took bold creative chances that deeply split fans. Despite this controversy, the trilogy was technically impressive, with groundbreaking visual effects and exciting lightsaber battles. A key strength was the introduction of new, memorable characters, particularly Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). His complex transformation from the troubled Ben Solo to the powerful Supreme Leader of the First Order gave the films a much-needed emotional core, grounding the spectacular action.

Kylo Ren, the grandson of Anakin Skywalker and a descendant of the Sith, was shown to be incredibly powerful in the Force, surpassing many who came before him. He immediately impressed audiences with his control, notably stopping a laser blast in mid-air during an interrogation. His abilities continued to grow throughout the films, especially through his unique connection with Rey. This bond allowed them to communicate and even interact with each other across huge distances, pushing the boundaries of what Jedi and Sith could do. Interestingly, despite many impressive displays of power in the movies, Kylo Ren’s most significant feat of the Force actually happened in a lesser-known animated series.

Kylo Ren’s Power was at Its Peak in Star Wars Resistance

Premiering in 2018, Star Wars Resistance had a bright, cartoon-like animation style, which was very different from the more realistic look of shows like The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Because it was made for a younger audience and focused on pilots instead of Jedi, it didn’t capture the attention of as many adult viewers. Some people thought the first few episodes were too silly, and the main character, Kazuda Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean), was sometimes seen as clumsy. However, as the show went on, it started to connect more closely with the bigger story of the First Order conflict. The season two finale even revealed something new about Kylo Ren’s powers.

In the two-part finale, “The Escape,” which happens before The Rise of Skywalker, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren appears as a hologram to scold Commander Pyre and Agent Tierny for repeatedly failing to capture the Colossus refueling platform. Frustrated with their lack of success, Kylo Ren uses the Force in a surprising way: he takes complete control of their bodies through the holographic transmission itself. Even though he’s in a different part of the galaxy, Ren forces Pyre and Tierny to point their blasters at each other. This demonstration of Force control is more advanced than anything seen before, even surpassing Darth Vader or Darth Sidious’s famous ability to choke people from a distance.

A moment in Star Wars Resistance is important because it shows Kylo Ren’s Force powers had become so strong he didn’t need to be near someone to control them. Usually, Force users in the films need to see the person they’re influencing or have a strong connection to them. Kylo Ren managed to exert control through a simple hologram, proving his power as Supreme Leader was unmatched. This scene demonstrates why he was the galaxy’s biggest threat during the First Order’s rule. Even though Star Wars Resistance wasn’t as popular as other animated Star Wars shows, it definitively proved that Ben Solo’s power was even greater than the films suggested.

Star Wars: Resistance is currently available to stream in its entirety on Disney+.
