The second season of the live-action One Piece series arrives on Netflix next week, and we’re learning more about what to expect. All episodes will be released on March 10th, allowing viewers to watch the entire season at once. This binge-worthy format is typical for Netflix, and One Piece will follow suit. The new season will cover the first part of the Baroque Works/Alabasta storyline from the original manga, and due to its length, episodes are expected to be longer than usual.
The episode lengths for One Piece Season 2 are now known, and they’re quite long, as many fans predicted. According to What’s on Netflix, most episodes will be just over an hour. The shortest episode is 54 minutes, which is still longer than typical TV shows. This is similar to the episode lengths of Stranger Things, which also frequently exceeded an hour. See the episode titles and runtimes listed below.
- Episode 1 “The Beginning of the End” — 66 Minutes
- Episode 2 “Good Whale Hunting” — 63 Minutes
- Episode 3 “Whiskey Business” — 63 Minutes
- Episode 4 “Big Trouble in Little Garden” — 54 Minutes
- Episode 5 “Wax On, Wax Off” — 57 Minutes
- Episode 6 “Nami Deerest” — 55 Minutes
- Episode 7 “Reindeer Shames” — 57 Minutes
- Episode 8 “Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom” — 63 Minutes

Netflix
This season of One Piece begins the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventure into the Grand Line, a dangerous and unpredictable sea filled with exciting islands and challenges. Building on the expanding story from the manga, the season will take its time introducing many new characters and locations, all of which will play important roles in the overall One Piece saga.
The longer episode lengths feel more appropriate for this series compared to how Stranger Things handled them in later seasons. With over 100 volumes of detailed backstory and character development in Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga, a longer adaptation makes sense. Netflix’s One Piece aims to capture the grand scope of the source material, and dividing the next major story arc into two seasons demonstrates this commitment. It will be interesting to see how these hour-long episodes play out.
