Atomic Heart, the game initially released for PS5 and PS4 over three years ago, is getting one last expansion. Called ‘Blood on Crystal,’ the DLC will be available on April 16, 2026, and you can watch a preview in the trailer linked above.
This final expansion for Atomic Heart is presented as the game’s ending, even though a sequel is already in development. Players will explore further into Facility 3826 to fight a powerful enemy named CHAR-les in a last-ditch effort to save humanity. The expansion emphasizes adapting your combat strategy and utilizing all available weapons.
For those who haven’t yet experienced Atomic Heart, an Ultimate Edition is coming soon with everything you need! It includes the full game, all four expansions, plus extra goodies like a 250-page digital art book and exclusive character skins.
The physical Ultimate Edition comes out on March 24, 2026, and the digital version will be released with the last expansion on April 16, 2026.
Our review of Atomic Heart on PS5, originally published in February 2023, gave the game a score of 6 out of 10. We found it to be a blend of shooter, stealth, and RPG elements that clearly draws inspiration from other games, though it doesn’t quite reach their level. While the alternate-history setting and varied combat options are appealing, they’re let down by a confusing story and poorly developed characters.
